I live in central California where it get hot as hell, 1pm to 6pm is hell outside.. any way i'm curious as to if i can change my plants light cycle from their current 24 hrs of light to 18-6 to avoid as much of the heat as possible. I live in an older house and the insulation sucks. Can i do this without throwing my ladies into flowering?

I've never switched growing cycles like that but from my understanding you'll definitely be OK. As long as you don't go under about 14 house of light you're good. I've seen many growers on this forum do it with good results. Good luck.

I agree, you're safe dropping your light period to 18 hours.

Awesome thanks man. I figured it would be ok, just wanted to make sure so I didn't stress the ladies out. Those aren't my normal temp and humidity readings btw, I had the door open for a while setting things up. Thanks again!

Yes you'll be fine

18/6 is almost as good a vegging schedule as 24/0 or 20/4. Look into putting a small box fan in the room doorway to help cool down those valley temps.

Sheesh, spent part of August, 1974 steam-cleaning shopping carts about a mile from San Bernadino. That's warm.

BigSteve.
