I'm loving how cheap the parts are and how easy it is to work on.
Got a good portion of it ripped apart and a bunch of the new parts came today, still have a bunch more to get. I'm replacing the entire front end and updating it a little, going with a newer year and better lights. Figure I'll have $700 in parts and it'll look like a new truck.

See the bottle with the pink liquid in front of the truck? That's homemade penetrating fluid, 50/50 acetone/AT transmission fluid. Works better than anything I've ever used.
The truck should look similar to this when I'm done, except it'll be charcoal gray in color on top and black bedliner from the lower body line down.

Will do! Maybe it won't separate after a while like the acetone does.
I think the acetone mix separates because it takes in humidity. Some mineral spirit (or toluene, better if you can source it, CA hardware stores stopped carrying it) in the mix ought to slow that separation.

ikr, hub always has 1/2 a dozen nut/bolts/hardware left over after an engine rebuild and he writes on cardboard pushes them through too! So he has like cardboard mats layer by layer yet every time there's extras and once or twice to few!Stop it. You're making the rest of us type A's look bad.
