Whether or not you address this issue is your own business. On a side note I would at LEAST take a multivitamin and wash it down with a can of ensure to prevent malnutrition. yes, starvation mode is real. Your body recognizes that food is sparse, and slows your metabolism so you can store energy for survival.
"address this issue" ?
okok people starvation mode is real we get it- ITS NOT ABOUT WEIGHT
gah sorry this is pointless- I'm on a friggen website for christs sakes:shock:

lol RIU community can be very helpful no matter what the issue.. it seems like its about control.. I had an ex like that.. She was skinny as could be but would do the type of things ur explaining. I think the best thing u can do is understand why u do what you do.. granted, this may be easier said than done... but I do believe through self analysis you can correct any problem that you suffer from.. Finding yourself is something that doesnt happen overnight, but through years of realizing who you are and what motivates you (whether good or bad) sorry, there is really no answer that will correct it, but I hope this helps somewhat....

Regardless of whether this behavior is conscious or subconscious, it is still irregular and can lead to health problems. The human body requires nutrition and if you are depriving your body of nutrition, there is a problem.

Unless I am TOTALLY missing the points, which has been known to happen from time to time!

it's ok I miss the point a lot

I guess it's cus most people actually care about their health/bodies
I do not- I smoke cus every pack takes like 20 min off your life or something lol

I follow the "Marla singer" ideology- wishing I would die cus I'm too much of a coward to do it myself

so no-it's not about weight -I know about starvation mode, you'd be surprised how knowledgeable I am about health stuff (I'm a chef)

it's a mental thing, but something I just have to get used to I suppose

....ok im gonna be the one who is a dick and everybody hates cause it seems everybody is beating around the bush. You have a fucking problem, and your being to much of a pussy to do anything about it. You get mad at yourself by eating and keeping yourself alive? How fucking pathetic is that. seriously...you get angry cause your doing what you have to so you can live?

From your last post clearly you want to die. MY theory is that for some reason beyond your understanding your trying to starve yourself. But then you end up not following thru and you get something to eat. And then since you ate you have to start the whole starvation process over again thus you get pissed off at yourself. heres my *most likely unwanted* advice

quit whining and eat a fucking cheeseburger. You have to eat too live, so either you have to (A) get over it or (B) just starve yourself and call it aday. Hopefully you choose option A...

no -maybe I'm masochistic- but I liked your advice-
it added depth and a tinge of comedy to this completely shallow/ whiny thread,
whatever---opinions matter so good job

Change the attitude and your body will follow you there.

Change your diet.... don't go all health crazy...or total cheeseburgers either. As with most things in life...happiness is found and "kept" in the middle.

Make sure you cook all of your own food. Keep trying new ingredients and recipes. Make an adventure out of it....a happy thing. Make your kitchen more friendly to yourself. Put on some happy music while you prepare your meals. It's in the attitude....it's not a chore, it's not a guilt trip.

Whistle while you work sounds corny, but there is a kernel of truth in it.

OK, so I DID NOT miss the point! Like I said, whether it is conscious or subconscious, you have an ISSUE! So it's not an eating disorder. It sounds like bi-polar disorder or chronic depression. (Some counselors will tell you it's the same)

Either way, you need help. I urge you to see a therapist. It does not mean you are weak or crazy.

He mentioned he was a chef. Not trying to clown you, I miss more shit than you, I'm sure. LOL. He is sub-consciously punishing himself I think, but what do I know. After all, I'm too stupid to even believe in GOD...

eating is good, dont stop eating and then feel bad when you do; we all get hungry and the answer is to eat. just dont gorge on foods youll feel bad about. eat a salad or a lean cuisine or something (not un-)healthy and dont feel bad

maybe the disorder problem in the US is just another disorder.. i like to call it 'the poor pitiful me disorder'
basically 'the poor pitiful me disorder' is summarized like this:
The refusal to accept that your current state is probably caused by your own actions...
examples:
Its not me eating 5000 calories a day in sugary drinks and fatty pre-prepared foods, its the disorders fault.
I get lazy and dont like work or other required but not fun stuff, but its not my fault, its the ADD.
I got supergonnasyphilaids but its not my fault, its the sex addiction. obviously a disorder that made me forget to cover up.

accept responsibilty for your actions.
if you feel guilty about eating, than i suggest you give yourself a reason to not feel guilty about eating.... like working out/running.
when you see tangible results, it makes making changes much easier.
and instead of punishing yourself with guilt, punish yourself with a good workout!
your body will love you for it.

ahhh i couldnt agree more :) but how else would all the perscription "med" companies make money off us :-?...you see med commercials on all day long... "do you feel tired during the day??? well then you suffer from depression.... " "Are you 60 and cant get it up anymore??? well then you have erectile disfunction.." Its a fucked up game to them... and everyone who buys into it is simply a pawn..:-?
