Pro mix and gnats

I recently had a huge breakout of fungus gnats. I think they came from a bag of Dr. Earth Organic ferts. I used Summit Mosquito Bits and yellow sticky traps to get rid of them. Mosquito Bits uses a bacteria to kill the larvae in the soil. Takes about two weeks to break the cycle and rid yourself of the pests. The container is covered in scary warnings but from what I've read researching the Mosquito Bits it's harmless to plants and humans.
I agree

Well, it looks like a lot of growers use and trust Mosquito Bits, personally I do not trust any packaged insecticides. It has been my experience that companies who make chemical products are never honest about what they are producing. Whatever the plant ingests, will end up in the final product you consume. For me, it's not worth the risk. During the last few years, I found it to be much simpler to order my marijuana online, but the last few orders, the high had become much stronger, nothing like what marijuana feels like, and it was burning the hell out of my lungs. Everything is about the bottom line for these companies, that's the world we live in and even the legal marijuana producers in Canada cannot be trusted, their products are laced with all kinds of chemicals they consider to be safe. I've been smoking weed for many years, and I can assure you, what is being sold commercially in Canada is not safe to consume, maybe once in a while, but definitely not for the long term. I had switched to vaping extracts, which I originally thought would be better for my lungs because it required less "smoke" to achieve the same level of intake. Unfortunately that industry is also corrupt, there is overwhelming evidence that vaporizers, although practical because of their concentration and lack of smell, the vapors contains small metal particles produced during the burning process of the THC extract. It's a great idea, but unfortunately the metal particles do irreparable damage to the lungs. It got the point where I could hardly breathe, but recovered quickly when I stopped using my vape pen. While I am grateful that our Prime Minister was kind enough to legalize marijuana, they are doing a poor job, if at all, of monitoring the quality and safety of the products being produced by these companies that only care about profits. This is the system that is imposed on us, make money any way you can to survive, even if you have to poison and kill people in the process. We live in a society that values money above all else, it is valued more than human life. This is why I don't trust packaged chemical products.

The materials and fertilizers I use to grow my own weed, at great risk because my landlord would kick me out if they found out, Promix, mixed with a bit limestone (for added calcium and PH control), once they start flowering, I use plain old unrefined, unsulfured molasses as part of my fertilizer program once they start flowering. The best and the sweetest buds you'll ever smoke. Molasses doesn't contain everything the plant needs, but it is very rich in trace minerals, vitamin B, and Potassium (potash). It is also naturally anti-fungal and stimulates mocrobial growth in the soil. Produces the best buds ever. I would be very weary of feeding my plants any chemicals to boost my yield, although many of them actually contain molasses, lol.
