Hemp products can still obviate much of the demand for hydrocarbons which will not only reduce the cost but also possibly the impact environmentally.

Jatropha curcas may be superior for biofeul, but can't be used for much else, where as hemp can be harvested for oils and the remainder is still useful for fiber.

I turned an old bike into a 12v generator so whenever I use more than my panels can replace, either because of clouds or heavy drain or just at night, I can pedal to keep my charge controller happy. I think this sort of tech is worth using already, and it's development appears rapid.

I still don't see it having much use for AC infrastructure however.

hemp's tremendous cellulose output could produce vast quantities of methyl alcohol, allowing much of the lighter fractions of petroleum to be used for more useful products than motor fuel or heating fuel.


the oil from the seeds is only so-so as an engine lube, castor oil works better.

superior fuel is why Nascar runs on methyl alcohol, in fact all race organizations except formula one, and nitromethane dragsters use methyl alcohol as their choice of motion lotion.

also, fusion reactors are science fiction. you might as well suggest zero-point energy or antimatter reactors.

im a huge booster for methyl fuels. they work, they are renewable, and their byproducts of combustion are CO2 and water.

they can be made from lawn clippings, and if they catch fire in an undesirable location you can put em out with a garden hose.

Nuclear produces far less "waste" than any carbon burning power plants.

I bet you cry over nuclear and now are gonna tell me that man is destroying the Earth with AGW.
