What Kind of generator is useable for indoor grows? (Apartment)

-For 1000w or 2000w light
-silent oder Made silent (how to make them silent ,air intakte? Outtakes?)
-propane would be nice

Iam not sure how much power they need to have, i know that 2/3 of the Power is good to use.?
But a honda eu30i puts out 2 × 8amps i think, but that would be way to lees for 2000w of led light. A meanwell with 240w puls 10amp or not? :(

Yes never in a closed room !!!
But with the exhaust through a Window,
Or covered on a balkony

Oh ok , so less amps?
My meanwell driver 240h/24a puts out 10amps,
So the driver pulls more volts from the Wall and puts out less volt but mor amps to the light/leds
? Is this right?

Yes

P (Watts) = E (Volts) x I (Amps)

You do lose a little power in the conversion so input wattage will always be a little higher than output wattage, this is based on the efficiency of the device. Efficiency = Watts Out / Watts In So if your driver is pulling 250 watts and putting out 240 watts it's 96% efficient...

How much LED'(watt) do you think could run with a honda eu30i (3000w) its a inverter ?

How do you stop the noise, ive yet to meet a quiet generator that didnt cost really stupid amounts?

If you need to grow with a generator, a diesel genset is the only real choice in my opinion.
I live off the grid in Alaska and have grown weed for years from a generator installed indoors in the basement.
You must provide an outlet for your exaust as well as a way to keep it cool. My generators fan blows directly outdoors through a hole for cooling, but you could also use a keel cooled marine genny to dump heat into a hot water heat exchanger.

Diesels typically run at half the speed of a gasoline generator.
Built like a tank
Much more fuel efficient
Use a much safer fuel.
Gasoline is dangerous and should never be used indoors!
You will easily burn out 10 gasoline generators to 1 diesel.
They cost a pretty penny and small diesels start at about 6000 watts
You also need to keep a heavy load on a diesel otherwise the valves will eventually wet stack and harm your genny.
So if you go with say a 6k you'll be looking at running 3-4 k in lights plus your accessories @ a cost of .6 gallons of fuel per hour.

Good point, fuel cost alone would probably be more than just plugging lights into the wall outlet. Where im at id be looking at a minimum of $35 per day for diesel fuel.

I use offroad no road tax diesel aka heating fuel for a price break, but i've calculated about 60 cents a Kilowatt.

Would be cool to setup a diesel generator to run on used cooking oil. Then get your fuel for free from local chains.

I got a thing for unique diesel fuels but it takes some doing... if you run a engine on alternative fuels, WMO or WVO are basics you will have to have enough property & equipment to clean the fuel, as well as the technical know how to adjust the timing for slower burning fuels. If you're in an apartment I'm assuming you want to use a genny during brownouts and blackouts. Have you considered a battery bank & inverter? Could charge it on the grid & just run a wee LED until power comes back to keep the light cycles steady.

Alternativen fuels smell to much, what i know.
And i just want cheap (undercover power).

I would run it in a Hall or a closed car port.

Iam not sure how long the exhaust "tube" can be maid, that the exhaust gets out at the roof?

Maybe if some of you uses or used a generator you could Post tue model and how much light you run it .

Sorry my friend, but there is no such thing as cheap undercover power. If you can't just plug right in to the outlet and do your thing than maybe its not a good place to grow.

Many people have passed away during winter power outages because they ran a generator in their garage and carbon monoxide gas infiltrated their home. Ony way I would ever run a generator inside is if it had properly welded exhaust pipe taking the gas outside. And a carbon monoxide alarm or two.

If you're doing this to hide your power usage, why don't you just whip up an inverter/battery bank setup run off the wall? you would use a bit more power but you could spread the power usage evenly throughout the day. Since you are clearly going for super stealth I think you should look at a lower wattage LED light in a small tent instead of 2000w grow.
