Since they've incorporated PlaystationPlus, it seems like they are working towards a payment plan.

I mean, I go buy a ps3 and the next week they start that up.
It takes away multiplayer betas(on some games/usually the big titles)
And a lot of demos, all kinds of things..

I just dont get it, We buy the console/accessories (which imo are overpriced, a pad for 60$???) games, everything. I feel its only right we dont have to pay to play the games online.
I can understand the online shooters and such being a little more expensive to purchase.

BUT, this does go to show xbox has better online play.
(and I can say that because I played ps2 online for 3 years, then switched to xbox only for 2 years(gears head) and now Im doing both)
Obviously my opinion, altho ps3 hardware destroys xbox.

I just want the damned network back up so my kids will stop bitching.....i guess im at the point of getting disgusted too, how Sony is handling this is beyond pathetic.

"Its not our fault your cc info, address and all other info got stolen, its the evil hacker"

They didnt have good enough security and are now paying the price. As soon as the PSN goes back online, im selling my kids PS3 all the games and buying them an Xbox 360, ive had enough of Sony and their pathetic excuses. Take responsibility for YOUR lack of security Sony.

It's still down for me. Sony announced they will turn on some functions within a week, including being able to play online. When it's back up, it'll prompt you to change your password

this attack on sony is a direct result of legal action taken against a person who hacked the console for improved funtionality.
it would be like ford taking you to civil court for installing aftermarket shocks on your car.
or lazy-boy taking you to court for reopholstering a chair.
if they hadn't taken the hacker to court, they never would have gotten hacked on this scale.
i hope they realise now that they are vulnerable enough to have to be respectful to the consumer about what he/she decides to do with his/her own property.
fuck sony.

Thats okay.. practically everyone online takes gaming way to fucking seriously.

If anything it'll be good not stare at a screen for the maximum recommended amount of time in one sitting and get outside...

The problem here is that my situation is the complete opposite. Before I lost my job I could get any console or game at any time but now that I'm unemployed I have to pick my games very carefully. I did a lot of reading on Portal 2 and every review said I had to have it for PS3 since it was catered more towards that console. My wife went out and bought it for our anniversary as a gift and after I finished the campaign, I wanted to try out what the reviews were raving about, multiplayer, except I couldn't cause the fucking network was down. I don't play much online anymore but the one time I was looking forward to it, the network went down. Now I wish I had hinted at my wife that I wanted it for my 360 instead. I'm never buying a game on Sony that is also on 360 anymore, this was the first and last time I do that.

valve games are made for PC and ported to consoles.
if you were a PC gamer you wouldnt have this issue.

I'm not a PC gamer, I own all 3 consoles but have never really like playing on PC's. I have before but the constant upgrading of video cards, memory, ram, etc. get's old real fast. Consoles last around 5 years or so and need no constant upgrading.

By the way, Portal 2 was ported from console to PC... That is why PC gamers are so pissed about this game
