Sad to say my PM back to Rollitup was far from friendly. You can imagine the anger i feel towards the situation.. That and the other thread by another member still exists and is not flagged as advertising.View attachment 2873141
I heard what happened, and I'm devastated. That's horrible news. I can only imagine how you feel. That was a legit side-by-side cannabis test that you put a lot of effort into. With great results, too. And, even greater results were to come. I call bullshit on this one. I hope you change your mind and stick around, but will totally understand if you don't. Hit me with an e-mail if you start an account elsewhere. Would love to stay in touch. You're an invaluable wealth of information, Stew. It won't be the same without you.
If you guys would like Stew to stick around, you can send a friendly PM to Rollitup and let him know how you feel.
two sides to every story folks! thats all.
and personally if youre so goddamn unhappy with a website LEAVE.
Just following your advice sunni. Thanks for stopping in and clearing things up.if you have a serious issue about how its run you need to take it to the head haunco
I'm sorry to hear that growers can't run tests of products and share their findings. There's so much hype on the product side of growing that collecting data from growers who run legitimate experiments -- two sets of plants grown under the exact same conditions except for a single variable changed -- would be invaluable for RIU members and potentially save people thousands and thousands of dollars over their growing lifetime. People who are interested in providing this kind of data take a lot of time and effort to ensure the results of their experiments are legitimate -- logging readings and measurements, taking pictures, writing descriptions. That information is worth gold.Apparently, Stew's thread involving a probiotics side-by-side cannabis test that he spent months preparing for, and working on was deleted. The reason I'm calling bullshit is because there is another page with a similar test that is still up, and active. This leads me to believe that there is politics involved. My instincts tell me that someone got upset, said something, and, without warning, his page was removed. I'm torn because I love this site, and all it's knowledgeable members, but hate when things like this happen. Especially when other steps could have potentially been taken so both the admins/mods AND the members could be happy.
That would be nice, but I don't see it happening. First we'd need to teach people how to use the scientific method and how to actually ask questions that it can answer.I'm sorry to hear that growers can't run tests of products and share their findings. Even the scientific community, which has a history of not publishing negative findings, is learning that the cost of this tradition approach is in human lives. Being able to publish negative findings would save a huge amount of time for researchers everywhere, but everyone's too afraid to do it.
I hope RIU changes its policy on this. Maybe creates a separate room for experiment reports, and has a sticky explaining a legitimate format for data reporting. This is important information, and it would be nice if RIU is a leader in this area, not a follower.
I couldn't put it any better if I tried, so I am not going to. There are a couple things I have to say about the whole thing. If rules and regulations (which are stated upon registering and can be found in the section titled Forum Rules - see below) are enforced equally, why wouldn't ANYONE who mentions ANY product be considered an advertiser and be found in violation of the forum rules. If you take the time to actually read the terms of use, you can see just how vague they are. I could not find justification for the actions taken that were described as a violation in the aforementioned terms of use.I'm sorry to hear that growers can't run tests of products and share their findings.
