What is your total wattage? If it's only 400w then you should be good. If you are venting to the outside it's going to show up on FLIR, plain and simple. The question is what will it look like to the police? If you have it set up like a dryer vent or a hot water heater stack you will probably be ok. If FLIR really bothers you then look into an aircooled hood and check out the Ice Box. It gets kinda pricey because you have to buy a water chiller (that is where the bulk of the cost is). The unit itself is very cheap though. Google it and see what you think. If you can't find it pm me and I will try to find it for you.

not sure what your problem is with it. near all of what navysupra states, well i agree wholehearted. if i knew thje police could and do enter my enighoourhood without warrants or legal means, then first i'd think "hell no i am not growing dope" and secondly, well if they enter without a warrant and search and find your grow, then anything they say and do in court is void of any validity and the case will be thrown headlong down the courtroon, it's illegally gotten evidence.

^My only problem with the ice box is that I leave the closet open to exhaust the heat, with the ice box I think you would need all your hot air in a confined space [duct] for it to pass through the ice box, if I get a cooltube or an air cooled hood I will defo go for one, correct me if I'm wrong.

You have to have some sort of aircooled reflector. You just attach the ice box on one end of the reflector and your inline fan on the other. You have it so your fan blows air across the bulb and into the ice box. It's just basically a radiator that circulates cold water which dissipates the heat. If FLIR is a major concern and you can't vent somewhere inside of your apartment you really don't have a whole lot of options. I dump my air from my flowering room into my vegging room. I do not vent to the outside. It's not an ideal setup but it works for me. You may need to play around and see what will work for you.

I just let the heat spread by leaving the closet door and door to the room open, works for me, I will be looking into the ice box, thankyou for your time and the spot on info.

That's basically what I do. I leave my veg room open as much as I possibly can. I use about 1400w total at any given time and I can put out more bud than I need, and I smoke a good amount.

I have a grow going in a closet. This closet is against my dining room on one side
and my kitchen on the other. All my husband and I did was install vents on both walls
of the closet so they vent out into my dining room & kitchen. It actually helps heat
my house a bit in these winter months. I have a 400w hps & the room and whole house
stays around 74-75. I don't know if thats an option for you or if you were looking
for an easier way, just thought I would throw it out there.
Also I've seen other threads pretty severely trolled and this is nothing.

That's not entirely true. If he's venting into an attic space or to the outside he could be picked up with FLIR. The heat has to be dealt with some how. Just covering hot things or room walls doesn't totally deal with the hot air.

Yea I am the same as you, I have left the whole front of the closet open so as much heat as poss can be exhausted, closing the closet doors is not an option as temps touch 100 when I do so!
