Good job.
As of this Thursday (at around 2 PMish) I'll hit my two week mark.
Tomorrow at 8:30 am I'll be a non smoker for 2 weeks.

Congrats to all of you that have kicked the habit. There are benefits. Food will definently taste better, fellow non-smokers will not cringe when you enter the room from the stench of old cigarette smoke (The ashtray effect), eventually with a lot of smell good gadgets, your car and home will eventually lose the stench, and us non-smokers will not hesitate to join you in your surroundings. More friends, eh. Beware though, most have a tendency to gain weight after quitting.

ive heard nicotine is one of the harder drugs to kick but worth it in the long run physically and monetarily.

When I decided to quit, I went to a quit smoking program presented by the VA. The doctor in charge said nicotine, or more succintly the habit, is harder to quit than heroin. I went for a week then walked away and never touched a cigarette again. I doubt I could do that with heroin, if I had the habit.

I made up my mind to quit, and quit, the first 24 hours were the hardest, but I haven't had a craving for a cigarette in the last 48 hours or so.

people have different physical and mental reactions to different addictions it is not the same for all. as an example some people are more prone to alcohol addiction but may not get easily addicted to some hard drugs where as another person might be able to control alcohol but have real problems with other substances. everyones physiology is different when it comes to addictive substances it is not purely mental.

Good for you. I Haven't had a cigarette or the desire for over 12 years now, I hate the damn things and wish they would dissapear off the face of the earth. My addiction now is food, that's a hard one to give up.
