One 600w HPS / One 2'x'4' Tent / Two Plants

Here's the setup info:

Both plants were started under CFLs, then went under a 150w HPS + CFLs, and were just put under the current 600w HPS this week and all other lighting removed. 5-gallon DWC buckets. Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom nutrients (currently 1/2 label str.). I additionally add a small amount of Ca Bentonite during reservoir changes (experimenting).

Both plants are from seed, they have mixed genetics that include Ice, a Haze, a Skunk, an unknown indica, and an unknown sativa/indica mix. Plant #1 (Athena) has been chosen to become a mother via clone - 2 cuttings were taken from her this week. They have both been topped once.

Problems up until this point: The only circuit in their room randomly trips (20amp) even though there is a max draw of only 1Kw continuous watts on it. A short-notice visit by an electrician resulted in me putting them (lid, roots, and plants) in a garbage bag and sneaking them outside in the trash can for a short period of time. I recovered them as quickly as possible and they have bounced back nicely. The tent currently has a 25' 12g extension cord running to it in order to be on a different circuit.

Feel free to comment, ask questions, critique, assist, BS, thread-hijack, call me a noob, share your own pics, etc... whatever floats your boat.

Will back-post some pictures for the past week just to get the journal started...

Bushes...

It's still a bit hot here at this point... there is some heat stress going on but nothing big.

These pictures were taken after they were dumped in the garbage for a little while... they recovered fine.

There is still some heat stress showing (pic #1) but it is not showing on the newer growth. The two cuttings are from Athena - they are in a DIY bubbler/cloner.

They are just starting to branch out a bit. Athena is branching like a mad woman!

These pictures bring the journal up to the current date - they are both looking good/better. Struggles with the temperatures have subsided as it has cooled off a bit outside. I'm loving this grow and the tent setup. Athena keeps pushing up new growth tips - can't wait to see what she looks like in flowering...

Thanks Werry - the lower temperatures has made all the difference in their appearance. I was really worried about the tent at first.

I'm guesstimating I'll start 12/12 in a week, depending on how much wider Athena gets - I don't want Isis completely crowded out. Wish I could LST Isis a bit as it looks like 3 of the growth tips are going to leave the rest behind but she's a bit shorter than Athena already so it wouldn't work out too well. I definitely don't want to try and LST Athena down with horizontal space being limited already...

Was just checking up on the plants, and Athena is now 24 inches wide - she pushed out some fan leaves to be touching both sides of the tent since the last time I checked on her. And about 17 inches tall (guesstimating)... I've replaced about 2 gallons of water in Athena's bucket since changing the reservoir and about half as much for Isis. They are drinking a lot...
