One 600w HPS / One 2'x'4' Tent / Two Plants

Man the picture of the buds made my mouth water. And yes, the plants are super stinky. I don't have any odor control on the little cabinet and I can even smell the clone at times when I walk into the bedroom. The carbon filter is working close to 100% for the odor in the tent, but if I open the tent even briefly it stinks up the room. Oh and I got my inbox cleared again by the way... Someday, we'll have to share some of our homegrown. Hopefully when I get moved since I'll at least be on that coast.

Here's a picture of the clone today:

She turned the corner and decided that life was worth living again over the course of just a few hours. She's perky and most of the leaves have gotten some color back. She's going to be fine. I'll top her to minimize vertical growth as soon as I see some of the lateral meristems starting to grow out.

Sorry Tao but I am nOOB what are meristems? Can you break it down so I the nOOB can understand....Thanks.
Oh that bud made my stomach full with some serious Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream....ahhhhhhhh!

I know, I tripped out because I checked on her and she was completely droopy and yellow just like she has been since taking her out of the tent, laid down and crashed for a few hours, woke up and opened the door to see her leaves all perky and reaching for the light. She just started getting root hairs yesterday - I guess she just finally got enough today to start feeding.

Meristems are just another term for growing tips. There are apical (main) meristems (same thing as a cola) and there are lateral meristems which are the tips of branches that grow out from the internodes (in-between the fan leaves and stem). Roots also have apical and lateral meristems (growth tips) but instead of leaves, roots put out root hairs. Cool huh?

Thanks baja - yeah I switched in the 600w HPS on 14 Nov. and started 12/12 a week later on 21 Nov.

Speaking of the currently unused 150w HPS... I was thinking I'm going to try and get it to fit into the small cabinet so I can get a good start on the next round while Athena and Isis are finishing flowering. I'd just need to add a small bathroom exhaust fan through the top part of the back of the cabinet.

Oh ok, your tent is 2' by 4' right? I had trouble keeping my temps decent when I switched on my 600w hps in that space. Good luck, it's probably cooler where you live, haha

No it hasn't been easy with the tent even before I put in the 600w. I started out struggling against temperatures big time even with the 150w. There was a bit of heat stress going on with the little plants at first. But now that it's only getting into the lower 80s here during the day, the plants have gotten bigger and shade a lot of the floor of the tent and the reservoirs, and I've put in the air-cooled hood with a 400'ish cfm inline fan, so it's not as bad as it was. I was still hoping it would be a bit cooler by now though, it's not optimal in there by any means (I max out at ~85f right at the canopy at times with around 81f being the average at the canopy). I wish I hadn't started the grow this early in the season... the AC bill is going to be through the roof again this month due to me being impatient with starting the grow... =P

Thanks man - I'm going to keep on bumping up the nutrients on them every week. I'd like to see them have a little darker color but I'm happy with the grow so far because there haven't been any major problems. Very grateful for that.

Well you are doing a great job and that why you havent had major problems.....You got those girls in CHECK!!! LOL

That's a nice way to start with the nutrients, they look great man. Can't wait to start some of my plants on the FF nutes BKB dropped off

Thanks again baja, the suspense on seeing budding always kills me at this point after starting 12/12. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas to get here...
