Obamacare's Entire Financial Model is In Danger of Collapsing

Weren't we told that Obamacare would pay for Medicaid.
Anyone here believe the $250 mandatory fine will cover the costs?

CBS News: With so much of the media's attention fixated on Obamacare's technological meltdown, some important storylines have gone under-explored. CBS news, to its credit delved into one of them today, noting that of the people who have successfully obtained coverage under the new law, it appears that the vast majority of them are new Medicaid enrollees. And that poses a mortal threat to the entire structure of the law. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guyben...ial-model-is-in-danger-of-collapsing-n1732009

This thing hasn't even begun to kick in and its already pretty much withering on the vine. Face it liberal cry babies. The Affordable Care act is neither affordable nor is it going to be care. It was a boondoggle to get your money and its going to dry up and blow away.

Ted Cruz: "If we don’t do it (defund Obacare) now, in all likelihood, Obamacare will never, ever be repealed. Why is that? Because on January 1, the exchanges kick in, the subsidies kick in...their plan is to get the American people addicted to the sugar, addicted to the subsidies, and once that happens, in all likelihood, it never gets…”

“It’s over,” Hannity cut in, “it never gets repealed.”

Its deader than dead. No government program sticks around when the primary players are losing money on it. No one is signing up for the thing, everyone is just going to pay the fine. Wait til they get sick and then get the insurance. That's what is in the best interest of everyone. Why pay for something you don't have to? When you get sick, go to the emergency room and refuse to give them your name, they MUST treat you regardless, but hard to send a bill to Jon Doe. When you get chronic, thats when you get the insurance. Why pay all that money for nothing? To support the other guy who eats like a pig, never gets off the couch, sucks down a pint of vodka a day, 2 packs of cigarettes and beats his wife and rapes his daughter? You want me to pay for HIS healthcare too? Fuck off.

Obamacare uses the same principle as global warming. Sell carbon credits.

Uhhh, news flash, you do that now without ACA. Insurance is a pool of funds as it is now. You are already paying for the other guy. AND the uninsured.

Insurance is jacking your rates because there is not a law, until now, that would stop them, only held back by free enterprise. Now that there is some regulation around it, insurance companies are getting their jabs in when they can, just like what credit card companies did right before the government put a regulation on that. Which turned out to be for the better.

But, I know, you guys will call bullshit on this. For some reason you refuse to understand reality.

Some people just need to be force to drink the Kool-aid and there are those who just step right up and swallow it with a smile.
I don't think Obama care will completely collapse. The Gov. will keep it on Life support as long as they can. Till the next Presidential election. Where Hilary will champion Single Payer Health Care as a solution to the
Obama care debacle.
In the meantime, we the people. The majority of us are going to take a Ass pounding.
You think all the Bull shit about promises B.O. made is bad. Shit, just kick back and wait. You have not seen nothing yet. This is just the Individual mandate part. Wait till the Employer mandate kicks in.
Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Can you come up with an original thought of your own?

Here's a news flash for you see4, before the ACA, Americans weren't forced to buy into that pool, it was a choice.
You accuse insurance companies of jacking up rates for the sole purpose of demonizing the free market and making the federal government out to be the savior.
What you conveniently left out were some of the reasons insurance companies are forced to raise their rates. No mention of medical malpractice?
Because of the threat of lawsuits, doctors are forced into practicing defensive medicine. Does the practice of ordering more tests and procedures than necessary as a protective measure drive up healthcare costs? How about the fact that healthcare jobs dominate lists of the highest paying careers in the country.

Malpractice reform is virtually excluded in the ACA, what will happen when doctors and insurance companies are not afforded relief in way of tort reform, who will be left to pay these settlements, what happens to the doctors and insurance companies?

So, who is not understanding reality.

The POTUS is a liar, plain and simple. ( Like the libturds here, I'll just keep repeating MY talking points ). No one can dispute that fact. He is a liar of the tallest order. That is the truth, plain and simple.

The ACA is as long as the longest novel ever written (which has over ten volumes). There is no way this thing won't collapse...nobody can understand that much legal mumbo jumbo. However ignorance of the law is no excuse, so you better hope it fails.

WHAT???? You mean Doctors expect to be paid well? If healthcare is going to be free wouldn't it make more sense to have laws that make it illegal for doctors to charge what their services are worth? Oh wait, we already have Medicare don't we?

The libtards are soon going to wonder why there is a 2 week wait to be seen by a doctor when you have the flu. They will never figure out why Doctors are going to start their private practices and will only start accepting cash. They think the laws can force Doctors to just do it all for nothing.

And the amount of code to make the healthcare exchange not work is 500 times larger than all the code it takes to make the latest windows operating system work. The experts figure than 99% of it could be eliminated and the site would actually let people sign up.

The whole way this turd of a bill was set up is laughable.
In order to pay for the preexisting and elderly who will undoubtedly run costs sky high, the ACA is counting on the young and healthy to offset those costs.
The problem here is, millions of young people are unemployed or are on their parents healthcare plan until they're 26 yrs old. Worse yet, the morons who wrote this bill give the young people the option of paying an annual penalty of $250.00 or jump in the exchange for a minimum of $1000.00, WTF were they thinking?
Where is the damn funding going to come from? Then add the millions of Americans that are bailing on the exchange and opting for medicaid.

This whole bill is a POS, it only proves the federal government can't run jack shit.

further, premiums are now subject to the 80/20 rule..that..oh what the heck i'm getting tired of explaining the same thing over and over..here read this:

[h=2]Rights & Protections[/h]Whether you need health coverage or have it already, the health care law offers new rights and protections that make coverage fairer and easier to understand.

Some rights and protections apply to plans in the Health Insurance Marketplace or other individual insurance, some apply to job-based plans, and some apply to all health coverage.

These rights and protections provide even more choice and control over your health coverage when key parts of the law take effect in 2014.

Use this guide to learn about your rights and protections today and in 2014.

Part 10

[h=2]Rate Review & the 80/20 Rule[/h]The health care law provides 2 new ways to hold insurance companies accountable and help keep your costs down: Rate Review and the 80/20 rule.

[h=3]Rate Review[/h]Rate Review helps protect you from unreasonable rate increases. Insurance companies must now publicly justify any rate increase of 10% or more before raising your premium. This does not apply to grandfathered plans.

[h=3]80/20 Rule[/h]The 80/20 Rule generally requires insurance companies to spend at least 80% of the money they take in on premiums on your health care and quality improvement activities instead of administrative, overhead, and marketing costs.

The 80/20 rule is sometimes known as Medical Loss Ratio, or MLR. If an insurance company uses 80 cents out of every premium dollar to pay for your medical claims and activities that improve the quality of care, the company has a Medical Loss Ratio of 80%.

Insurance companies selling to large groups (usually more than 50 employees) must spend at least 85% of premiums on care and quality improvement.
If your insurance company doesn’t meet these requirements, you’ll get a rebate from your premiums.
Use this tool to learn more about your insurance company and 80/20 rebates.
[h=3]Will I get a rebate check from my insurance company?[/h]If your insurance company doesn’t meet its 80/20 targets for the year, you’ll get back some of the premium that you paid. You may see the rebate in a number of ways:

  • A rebate check in the mail
  • A lump-sum deposit into the same account that was used to pay the premium, if you paid by credit card or debit card
  • A direct reduction in your future premium
  • Your employer may also use one of the above rebate methods, or apply the rebate in a way that benefits employees
If you or your employer are going to get a rebate, your insurance company must notify you by August 1.
If you have an individual insurance policy, you’ll get the rebate directly from your insurance company.
For small group and large group plans, the rebate is usually paid to the employer. It may use one of the above rebate methods, or apply the rebate in a way that benefits employees.
Note: The 80/20 rebate rules don’t apply when an insurance company has fewer than 1000 enrollees in a particular state or market.
[h=3]Does this apply to my plan?[/h]It depends.
For Rate Review: These requirements don’t apply to grandfathered individual and small group health plans. Check your plan’s materials or ask your employer or your benefits administrator to find out if your health plan is grandfathered.
For the 80/20 Rule: These rights apply to all individual, small group, and large group health plans, whether your plan is grandfathered or not.
