I just so love the lazy man's way to grow, my ass. I spend hours upon hours to make my soil, hell just making the compost takes a year. There is nothing lazy about true organics. I guess the lazy part is that once my plants are in their soil it comes down to making my teas, watering and spraying. I have been growing this plant for 45 years and I have been farming and learning organics my entire life, starting by following grandparents and uncles around the farm.
Fads...there is another good one seems to me people have been growing in soil for thousands of years. I guess people are learning that nature is smarter than most chemists brewing up their vats of toxins. The other big fad IMHO is this flushing nonsense, just what plants need at the peak of filling out their flowers. I don't understand reasoning of stripping a plant of what it needs to produce more mass and then say that they grow better and produce more. OK hydro may produce more, if you say so, I don't know and I don't care I will take quality or quantity everytime.
Flusher's that are happy with their grow great, I'm happy for you........non flusher's ya'll know where it is at. Just my two cents

I hope you enjoy your harvest of unflushed weed....... Save a batch for a taste test and then run a DWC gro using hydro nutes, a sweetner and no booster and I'll put money that the taste test shows the properly flushed DWC to be the winner.Shackzilla is really very nice too. Still got an amazing head high well over an hour later from an early quick dry tester. Makes it very easy to float over hateful children and their tactics of bile - regardless of how jumpy a one they may be!
Really looking forward to my delicious harvest of unflushed hazey goodness.

Molasses works in soil growing to help give carbs to beneficial bacteria to help convert more organic matter into inorganic ions for uptake.
In hydro with Chem nutes its pointless other than for trace Fe, Mg etc which can be had from other inorganic sources.
You're just creating a bacteria breeding ground by using it.
For the record I'm NOT ORGANIC I'm a chemical nute guy and I don't flush.
I think those that do flush their bud have been drilled into the old myths for too long that they aren't open to actually understanding any amount of actual botany just marajuana myth.
Talking about scientific progress and yet you still think its scientifically sound to flush plants and cause pointless deficiencies which actually lead to taste problems.
Did you know too much sugar in the roots of your plants actually hinders and blocks uptake of N.
Sugar aka molasses can be used to kill weeds because it stops the uptake of essential N.

simplicity and laziness ought not to be confused. to the newbie, there is so much information available -sometimes contradictory- it's overwhelming. having a mix that you only need to water isn't necessarily lazy, it's smart practice for some people. and not everybody starting out can afford all the toys you need to do a bitchin' hydro grow. I don't care for the organic = lazy mentality - it seems to me like most organic growers put a little more effort into their grows, compared to the indoor soil guys who just plant and then feed with chemical fertilizers and spray eagle20 and floramite and call it good - now that's lazy! no doubt that well done hydro can kick ass - but I think it only looks better. I have smoked a TON of dispensary weed, and hands down the hydro/chemmy weed always lures me in with its looks and then lets me down with bland cabbage flavor.

the only thing I disagree with is indoor soil growing being lazy.Ever have to fill 40 5 gal buckets with soil, then get rid of it without the neighbors finding out? And anyone who trims there own bud knows that's a job in itself.

Some, not many, really, really good growers can achieve organically what a Joe Public can in hydro....... But those men and women are few and far between.I know a couple of farmers in Spain and Cali that can do outside/inside organically something close to what me and my hydro friends can with MH lights and a good nute regime. Growing organically takes years of practice, refining and research. It is not as simple as jumping in the truck, buying what the Rev or SubCool told ya and then condescending and pontificating about organics........ I go to my hydro store a few times a year to top up on bits and pieces....... I try plenty of buds offered to me by middle aged licencees (addicted to Oxy's 50% of them) who claim organic is their method and sneer when they see my drippers and hoses and GH........ Not one of those buds has ever convinced me.

These aren't paracetamol, ibuprofen shit but strong strong opiates that eu Dr prescribe to end of life cancer patients and people in severe accidents. That's what is meant when you hear Mathew Perry or some such dick addicted to pain killers-They are not taking pain killers by our definition, they are full blown smack addicts. Here you will be given opium if you tell your Dr you hurt your knee a bit playing John Madden Football computer game. Go to the dentist- have a Perc. Hard day at work? Have a perc. Hey dude, wanna perc? And why sooo many US/Canadian licensees lean towards mixing soil once and just watering every week........ The rest of the time they are lying in bed in a stupor from crushing their percs/ocxy's et al. I think that in the canna world you can draw a graph showing the correlation in the popularity of lazy grwoing techniques and opiate addiction. Heck...... You can even get a grow license/weed script FOR opium addiction withdrawal.......
