Hey Vape had a question about curing and drying the plant... is hanging them and then putting them in jars the best option? and how long does it usually take you to have it dried and cured?

Thanks man..
hey greenleaf those supersilverhaze buds of mine where not very dense, and the humidity in the spot i use is low, usually below 20% so they dry quick.. i hang dry for 5-7 days, put into brown paper bag loosly roll the top up, usually for 7 days then i cure in jar for 2 weeks before i put it into storage..
since i am using the vape now i let it dry a little longer, cause the vape is more efficent with dryer weed..
i also like to use good tupperware for curing it is easier to flip the bus around.
hope you did well on your tests,,,

sorry for the off topic question but i just got a darkroom tent and was wondering if its the new model. is the orange label on the bottom left indicative of the new version?

ok last photo update before harvest and cure..
the whole plants are sk1, the shorties are the bg wich have had the heads removed and allowing the bottom buds to go a bit longer..
the nasty bud porn is the monster sk1 plant(it is because of this plant alone i am keeping the strain).the last 2 are one of the bg plants.

but lets start with a plate of uncured dry grapefruit nugs, out of 2 plants i yeilded 46g of nice smooth lovely tasting, smoking goodness.
smoking this grapefruit is like getting a hug from your plant, like its saying thanks for a job well done ..... i mean re read that last line this shit gets you high !!! LOL
by the way genfranco my new backdrop is not the flag for the arian homeless homosexual pride brigade... its just a curtain i found in a basement.
lol..

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL SUBSCRIBERS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!
peace merry christmas
genfranco merry christmas
greenleaf merry christmas
smokeeh merry christmas
mane merry christmas

to all droppers by may peace be upon you in the holidays.....

just got this email from discount advanced ..
this is also true with all nutrients and in soil build up..

DAN's Reservoir Succession Method

With complex nutrient combinations in the typical hydroponic reservoir these days, it is often a challenge to maintain proper pH levels. This is typically due to complex chemical interactions and breakdown that occurs over time. All growers must realize plants are really only taking in the portions of the solution that it feels it needs at the given moment in nutritional demand.

I use the all you can eat buffet example. Let's say you go to a buffet, do you or the company you are with sample each and every portion offered? I mean each and every cuisine, from the fried this to noodle that...down to the last kidney bean in the salad bar?

No, of course not! If this were the case you'd find yourself being rolled out of the restaurant by the end of your feeding.

The same occurs in complex hydroponic reservoir solutions. You are offering your plants a consistent all they can eat luxurious blend of the most premium grade nutrients known to man. They will pick and choose what they want out of the reservoir at whim.

The result?

Leftovers

What your nutrient tank consists of mid-week looks a lot different than what you started with. This in itself will cause pH drift.

When using Advanced Nutrients in hydroponics, most growers will notice pH levels typically tend to drift upward the first 2-4 days after mixing, and then pH tends to drop significantly after day 4-5.

This is due to the complexity of the 2+ program, and is largely determined by what it is your plants choose to pull out of the reservoir and when.

The best method we have found that ensures your plants are continually stimulated while balancing pH in high flux conditions is the

Reservoir Succession Method:

y 1:
Start by only making up your reservoir 2/3 with complete balanced nutrient solution. (This may not be possible with flood/drain reservoirs, drain to waste set-up)

Day 2: Balance pH

Day 3: add the additional 1/3 of fresh water, as well as the nutrients required for that 1/3 water amount.

Day 3, 4: As the first 2/3 is increasing, the additional 1/3 (water w/nutrients you just added) will bring pH back down a bit

Day 5, 6, 7: As The first 2/3 is now about to experience pH crash, the 1/3 you added will be on the rise, in turn balancing the pH overall to much more manageable levels.

This method may be a bit more feasible for people with larger reservoirs. Keep in mind this may not work for particular set-ups that require a full reservoir at all times. Those with 10 gallon or less reservoirs may not find this method practical either.

Another tip: upward pH drift can be minimized largely by diluting and heating Barricade slightly before adding to the reservoir. Place the necessary amount of Barricade in one cup of distilled water and microwave for 20-45 seconds. This will ensure the full break down of Barricade and reduce upward pH drift tendencies.

happy growing,

D.A.N.

Yo vape.. had a question man.. lol... I was thinking of drying up all the leaves from the plant and grinding them and collecting the kief off the top for hash... Now the only problem there is.. that I know that method works for weed cuz it's got a shit load of thc on it... you think I'll get any kief of a shit load of leaves?
Thanks bro.

maybe a better way is grind the leaf up corse.. then put it in a baggie and freeze for 48hrs at least, put that in a wide mouth mason jar, cover the top with a nylon stocking doubled. and shake it firmly and consistently over a glass table top or plate..scrape that shit up and there ya go.. the leaves on those silver haze plants dont really yeild enuff in the keif grinders..
hope that helps greenleaf...
my ssh plant is a discrace i am drying it as is and turning the whole plant into bubble hash..hope you have a better strain greenleaf..
