Nirvana Autoflower Northern Lights

The Nirvana problems with autos seem to be fixed, I am just finishing a grow that I assumed would be one of the single cola with a few tiny offshoots you get from a lot of AF's, but I wish I had LST'd this thing, it's branched out like a normal strain. It's in 3rd week of flowering, about 7th week, about 16 inches tall, and was a fairly easy grow, had no problems with it so far. It's showing some serious growth on the branches though so this may be a high yield AF. Smell is minimal too, will update when it gets closer to harvest. ( some of the fan leaves are cupped from a recent flush but the plant on a whole is healthy.)

I'm really surprised at how well they grew, I had to up the pot size, I wasn't expecting them to get as big as they have, had them in 2 ltr pots. Unfortunately I lost one due to root stress, but frankly the extra light has really brought a lot of little budmakers out in my girls. My previous experience has been the single cola kinda meh grow but these are growing more or less like a 12/12 NL but bigger, and smell the same way. I have some more on the way too, and I'm going to see if I can pull a mini LST off.

Looks excellent. I'm starting these same seeds tomorrow morning. If you could tell me what light cycles you used (24/24, 18/6, 16/8 etc.) or any tips in general I would be very grateful.

Hey thats good to hear, i actually just ordered some of these seeds, and was told afterwards on here that they were not af's at all. Id also like to know your light cycles, got any more pics of the buds? I plan to scrog mine, will be my first grow, well its NL or 60 Day Wonder, whichever arrives at the crib first.

sorry for the delay, I was using 19/5 with 5500 cfls and swapped to 2700 cfl's when they were decently flowered. I wouldn't try and scrog an auto though, they do too much growing during the flowering. Here's a couple of new pics.

Hey cranker,

I am looking at starting an auto grow in the next couple of weeks and really wanted to try and scrog an auto. If I put the screen on vertical runners so that it can be adjusted to allow for growth spurts, do you think that would compensate for it?

Hey cranker,

It really depends on the type of plant you are using. I've done flash cobra, Nirvana NL, easy ryder, afghan kush auto and bubblicious auto so far. It's really really hard to scrog them I think because of the speed they go through veg. mostly the 2ndary don't even start to really show until it begins flowering. You could try a simple LST and skip the screen, a lot of AF's are gonna start flowering at about 12-18 inches and the NL I have now are at about that. Being such small plants, I just put a small cfl on either side and a larger one above but a lot of them are mainly gonna only really grow a single cola to begin with. Again it depends on the pheno, I have one right now that's 2 weeks old and 12 inches that's growing like crazy...it's a World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder. I'd say let it grow for a few weeks, see if it takes off or if it grows short, a lot depends on the pheno. especially with newer strains.

I just got my seeds in from Nirvana, are these NL auto's seeds supposed to be so small? I got 5 and they are half the size of any seed ive ever seen

Seems like mine were pretty small. I think it's probably the ruderalis in it. Af's grow quick, and are smaller than the normal variety so, I guess sometimes the seeds are smaller. I've gotten some small seeds before that turned out fine, I really don't remember right off about the NL but Nirvana's always done right by me. I'll put up some pics when they're done, I kept the 2 healthiest. It's really starting to heap the buds on now.

I'd have to say, and I still have a good 2 weeks of flowering left at least, that I was disappointed by the size of the plant at first but it's budding everyfreakinwhere. I had some problems with them early on, mostly my fault (first time using rockwool and had 2 dry out) but they have been very forgiving, I'm a very amateur grower and it's got damn near no smell, the exodus cheese I'm LST'ing smells 5 times as strong and it's not even in flowering.

h5.jpger.jpgFinal words about the NL autos. Pretty hardy and easy to grow plant, yield was pretty good for a 2 month'er, had a bit of a problem after the flush with fan leaves dying which made me cut a few days before I wanted to but otherwise good starter plant. Seedling stage they are very fragile but if you make it past 10 days you're pretty much set. Here's the yield, with a bit of trimwork left.

Great job. So they did turn out to be true autos after all. Have a smoke report coming after they're done curing?

I ordered my seeds the day they were (re)released. About 2 months ago, I started 2 seeds, they sprouted fine, but didn't get past 2 nodes. I started a new seed and transplanted the existing two into better draining soil and they took off, in 3 weeks all three began to bloom.

NLA #1 - Short dense & branchy phenotype @ week 3 of bloom

NLA #3, Day 24 bloom, day 44 from seed - Over 3ft tall, long lanky branches, deep red coloring in many leaves

Gorgeous plants bro. This is all giving me hope that my seeds from The Attitude might just be the new Autoflowers instead of old stock.

My first NL Autos were autos, my second NL Autos were autos, and I expect my newest NL Autos to be autos also. My first batch was during the 'complaint' era and Nirvana sent me some NL Fems even tho I didn't complain! ... 1st class act....
This latest seed buy of NL-A...the seeds are fairly large compared to most...and popped in 2 days....Anxious again to reap the rewards of a nice strain...

How was the smoke test for the Autos?
