Hey all!! Glad to back online with the world of '09 (excuse the rhyme). After two weeks of my ISP majorly f-in' up, I got my life back LOL. So here is my 'mondo' update with recaps of each girlie.
Day 38 of Flower:
The 'stretch' that I thought was slowing down a couple times (but later would stretch more) is finally over. It was about damn time anyway, with the girls at almost 4 feet, I could not fix my HPS any higher!! All of the them have more then tripled size since day 1 of flower! Sway is almost 4 times the height!!
Though I do have a couple concerns now that I'm getting closer and closer to harvest, but I'll revisit that at the end. Right now a little about each girl.
Fox has always been my pride-and-joy since seedling. She has the tallest top/cola of the the three... lots of bud at the top 12"-15" or so... hopefully they'll all get big and merge and be one huge cola?! She's also the one that gets the most from the HPS... being more directly under it than the others, but I how I have my set-up can't really change this :-/
Jane is the stick-icky one. Her cola isnt as tall as Fox, but is so frosty with trichs that when I touched her once I could barely pull my fingers apart!!
Sway is... well... different. She's more of a hermie than Jane (though I really dont see a lot of ball sacs on either). I dont even have a close up of her cola... because there isn't much to show. However... she has a fattest buds elsewhere, and has created her own secondary tops, that I may see more from. Who knows. She's weird.
Like I said though, I do have some concerns... mainly regarding yield and flush... and maybe strain??
Yield. I thought a couple weeks ago I was going to have a great yield, but lately I haven't seen major growth in the buds.. even after the stretch had stopped :-/ AK-47s have a flower period of 53-63 days (7.5-9 weeks). I'm only two weeks from the start of that period :-/ They may look nice and big with the close-up shots... but look at my first pic of all... not a huge ass buds I'm hoping for yet. I did some major pruning of leaves on the bottom 1/3-1/2 (sorry no picture) to get more light to the iddy-bitty buds that are trying. I didn't full on lollipop them or anything, but cleared a good bit of the jungle out. Honestly. What do y'all thing of the bud sizes??
Flush. I dont know when to flush!!! I mean I know its 2 weeks prior to harvest, but really dont know when I'll harvest, so what to do?? The crystals are still clear and some hairs (a few here and there) are starting to turn orange... I was planning to start flush when I change my res this weekend, but that maybe is too soon... maybe I'll use nutes for another week?? I've smoked some home grown from a friends first grow that didnt flush good enough... eww. I dont want that. Are there any good rules of thumb???
Strain. I've mentioned before these may not be full blooded AK-47. The seeds came from some of the dankest bud I've ever had (AK-47... hermie) but there is a chance they're daddy is a White Widow X Cali Orange Bud. At least this doesn't affect flowering time, all those strains flower around 8-9 weeks... Oh well... those sticky hands I told you about before... they smelled great!!!! So I guess it doesn't really matter... maybe when they're all cured I can tell.
OH!!!! And... my odor issues are a thing of the past thanks to this!
It is my moms ion air purifier I gangked from her house... I shit you not, 20 minutes after I stuck this thing in my closet I couldnt smell a thing, and I was sticking my head all in that closet!! It is even due for a UV lamp (the 'filter') change 6 months ago... LOL Its actually designed for a whole house of course, and is a weeee bit pricey ($700). They do make a smaller one for cars, closets, etc... for like $300
Okay. Thats about it. Hopefully this is "mondo" enough of an update to excuse my absence... happy growing y'all!!

I hope they'll be big.. I still they got a bit to go for sure... though the close-ups make up look ginormous!!
Doesnt it look sleek? The only issue is that the blue ring is a light.. nothing strong, (less than a nigh light even) but I try and remember to take it outside the closet come bed-time
When my mom first got it, and I stayed over for the night, and on the couch the angle I looked it at made it look like a perfect circle... I was like "Oh Shit! Its the Ring!!!"
