New vivosun 600w led full spectrum

Thank you for the info! Im getting this light tomorrow, and I didn't know how big to build my box. I'm gonna go with 2*2*4 and hopefully I can get some good bud out of it. Or is 4ft high too short? I don't need massive plants, just enough for a decent supply
Before you order this, may I suggest an alternative from Rapid or HLG? A single logic puck, QB elite or 2 of the lower wattage QB elites will be much more effective and probably not too much more expensive.

I replaced 250 watts of blurple with 150 watts of QB and smacked myself in the head for ever considering anything epistar based.

My God man, at least peruse some cobs or something. Hortibloom is having a sale and they have cob fixtures for less than a dollar a watt rn.

I haven't finished my grow yet, but so far loving the new CMH light I bought. We'll see how flowering ends up, but heat is easily manageable and the plant is the healthiest I've ever grown. In fact it's getting so big I'm about to have an issue. You might consider CMH as an option.

I was actually gonna go with a viparspectra 300w, but I have no choice in this. A friend of mine already bought it and shipped it to me, so I just need it to pay itself off plus more for electric, water, soil and nutes, and then I'll probably get a better light after a few grows depending on how much I like the light. I have zero money to spend on my grow so everything in lncluding seeds are donated to me. I've heard a little about the QB boards but I'm just no starting my first real grow, so I just wanted to start very basic

That'll get you through some grows, for sure. You can always pick out something better later. I started with cfls man, and I wouldn't buy a vipar now but if I had one back then I'd have shit myself with joy.

Donated stuff is always good.

With 1 300 Reflector, you won't pull scads - but you will learn how to cultivate with LED's. Assuming a good growing environment and good plant genetics, you should get some decent bud from that light.

Yeah - the HLG Elite Quantum Boards look great. I might actually get my 4 x 6 in about 18 months and at that time, I'll see what manufacturers like HLG, Black Dog, Next Light, Fluence or Gavita have to offer. But for now, my V600W Reflectors will carry the mail, as it were.

If you have zero money for growing i would suggest that you have priorities that would preclude growing at all.

If you have zero perspective on the situation I would suggest you make it a priority to solve your ignorance before passing judgement.
Seems pretty obvious that if you dont have the cash to grow then things are pretty tight... tight enough that time and effort and cash should be going to other priorities. Dont need perspective to understand the obvious.

Well if he has all these things donated to him then I don't see the problem. The Vipar Spectra will be fine at first and he'll be able to see if he likes it or not.

So just a note. LED claim a 5 to 1 operational advantage but did you just throw in about 550 true watts of LED to replace a 600W HID? Not going to save a lot on the bill that way but I might be misreading these posts

Personally, I had more heat problems with LED than HID. HID obviously produces more heat but a can easily extract that heat with hood and fan. Harder to extract LED heat as the unit just blow heat into the grow room. Also cheap LED tend to burn out a different rates. A cheap panel may have 10 blue lights for every white to produce an even spectrum but when the low number of white or IR LED start to fade the spectrum goes all out of whack.
