New hobby for old head.

All of my plants are now showing sex. The ones that haven't been eaten by deer or rabbits or bugs. Seems everything likes weed. I found the last 2 males. I pulled the one that was in the same plot with 2 females. The other fella was by his lonesome so I'm going to try to get some pollen from him. Growing weed in the bush is a pain in the ass. I'm going to have to step up my game and protect the last few or mother nature is going to rob me blind.
I've got 70 something plants out. If Mother Nature had been a kind and nurturing mother, I would have half that many more. Not to mention all the deer ate plants that lived. If I make enough seeds this year, I will be dropping back to 15-20 plants next year, with some sort of deer proofing.

The deer are killing my BIL's grow too. About half of what he put in the woods have been ate. He is growing a few between two hound pens. That is the only patch not to have been fucked with. I told him what I would do was to make the pen really big, like a half acre, then pen off a spot inside the dog pen to grow in. If the deer got it then, they would deserve it.

I'm thinking I need deer deterrent stuffs.IMG_20160718_163802384.jpg IMG_20160718_160952614.jpg The bottom one was pretty much broken in half. I added a splint and crossed my fingers. The only thing I can figure is a buck raked his antlers down the stem. It's odd because I know they are still in velvet.

Yeah, something is eating it up. I would put up a bigger fencing and it expand it out because they can easily get their tongues through those holes and eat the leaves.

That does suck. I lost half of one of the 88's to one bite from a deer. Also several of the smaller ones, but those don't hurt as bad. They have fucked up my BIL's grow this year. He was so mad he swore he was going to gut-shoot them an let them die a long slow death. Our problem is our cousins feed them year round, but only kill a few each year, and hardly ever any does. Deer {like all mammals} will reproduce at a higher rate when their food supply {fat content} is higher.

The top died on the roughhouse plant.IMG_20160729_170647168.jpgBuds are rather fat on this one for so early.IMG_20160729_170721766.jpgAnd the rest of the girls are looking something like this.IMG_20160728_124959367.jpg
I put out slivers of soap near the plants. I'll get some moth balls and critter ridder to swap up scents.

I've lost so many this year that when I go to a patch and they are all alive and well, it is a pleasant surprise.

I like the sulfur based stinky stuff. The plants need sulfur anyway, so I just sprinkle it right in the hole.
