I've got 70 something plants out. If Mother Nature had been a kind and nurturing mother, I would have half that many more. Not to mention all the deer ate plants that lived. If I make enough seeds this year, I will be dropping back to 15-20 plants next year, with some sort of deer proofing. All of my plants are now showing sex. The ones that haven't been eaten by deer or rabbits or bugs. Seems everything likes weed. I found the last 2 males. I pulled the one that was in the same plot with 2 females. The other fella was by his lonesome so I'm going to try to get some pollen from him. Growing weed in the bush is a pain in the ass. I'm going to have to step up my game and protect the last few or mother nature is going to rob me blind.
Yeah, something is eating it up. I would put up a bigger fencing and it expand it out because they can easily get their tongues through those holes and eat the leaves.I'm thinking I need deer deterrent stuffs.View attachment 3735823 View attachment 3735825 The bottom one was pretty much broken in half. I added a splint and crossed my fingers. The only thing I can figure is a buck raked his antlers down the stem. It's odd because I know they are still in velvet.
that sucks once they get a taste they come back,i use mothballs, old piss, soap, one thing deer r afraid of is something different, keep changing the smell they wont go near it,i have deer all around me in the bush they don't touch my plants, gotta be smarter than deerI'm thinking I need deer deterrent stuffs.View attachment 3735823 View attachment 3735825 The bottom one was pretty much broken in half. From what they have been though, yours are looking good. I've had a few cash from the storm. Plus still finding lots of males. Last year I had almost none, so I used hot germination to increase number of males. It works.View attachment 3775659 After 6 days of rain 2 small plants died and this one looks like crap. Lots of dead spots. View attachment 3775660 And here is a better looking gal.
