HAHAHAHA-
ahhh, what started as a nice clean grow has launched into a mad experiment! All that wiring!? My, just how do you manage everything in there Bean?
About the uvb... try and find the spectral distrobution graph, it might be pretty minimal, but as far as i know, the bulbs actually tend to be pretty inefficient at producing UVB. I think that they achieve the effect somehow with the application of a special coating on the inside of the bulb with some compound including a rare earth (probably), while using essentially typical high K florescents. Good to hear it's frosting... I mean, you can always try to suntan with your plants to see if they work...
- Damn, there are so many bud sites! I think that you achieved an excellent balance of bushyness to stretch as well... What were your hours like again?
Oh, and what are your temperatures like?
Also, I'm glad to see that your "special" soil worked out, or did you ever transplant into that specialty soil? (I think not, owing up to the number of plants you still have, and how much room they're each taking up)
------
On my end, and more:
I still have two good sativas left, they're each at three feet or so and I'm training them quite roughly... The other two are dead now after attempting the miracle, last minute, failed rebound; The outcome is sad only because the one was a CRAZY pheno, a HUGE indica. Had it survived, it would probably be near 5 or six feet by now! Damn bubble wand aquarium thingy. I think the pH at some point killed it/them. I'm doing a deep culture aero next time. Double the res for each plant with a second bucket with a pump, which sprays water at the netcup/roots in the adjacent bucket, with a return line between the two on the bottom and plenty of bubbles.
Here are the two sativas, a little heat stressed, a little nutrient burn, a little pH damage, and training deformation. But recovering. I gotta bush em' up to match the footprint of the lights.
You asked about canna nutes-
I chose them mainly cause of their sensible product line without all the gimmicks. I really like cannazym, but the primary nutes... They say to let the water sit for some hours after you make it... Well, I impatiently dump it right in, and the plants stress for a couple of days, and its a bitch to get the pH right, and it climbs pretty fast after it settles. Granted, I do work with small res's at 5 gallons per plant. My plan to double up the buckets will make things easier, as well as setting up an aerated roughneck nearby to fill and maintain a constant supply of water, achieving the "some hours".
I'm steadily working towards the holy grail of environmental stabilization / control however...
ghetto two day solution for unbearable temps indoors and out.
Soon:
Sealed room.
Co2, ppm/ec/ph meter, Air Conditioning (indoor 2 hose), tons of fans, uvb, aero and get this...
The leds-
16 5 amp "modules" (on DC 12V of course), meaning... aw hell, you can do the math Bean!
- And this is just for those 2 good sativas, because of the dearly departed. I don't know if the leaves are drooping just due to heat stress... Or too many fucking lumens!
I had to kick myself this past week, I couldn't figure it out... What is a 80 amp DC 12V draw equal to when AC? ... ummm, duh,..
-Fuck, I have a single extension cord running to my room, powering EVERYTHING. I'm glad I got a more expensive one back when I had no idea, as It handles the full 15 amps out of the breaker box. Thank god only the washer is plugged into the same outlet...
FUCK! time to establish a washing machine blackout effective immediately for 14 hours a day.
!All my lines are warm, from the power supplies for the lights all the way to the breaker box. Bad. Right?!
In the future, I'll run a 230 volt line to the room and be done with it. Fuck its hot down here. For the meantime I should probably divvy everything in the room between the three separate outlets which are wired up down here in the basement, each to thier own breaker. Fuck its hot down here.
Simply no other way to go but sealed!
And now I have to think about chilling my res's. Damn Hydro. I could have had three or more soil harvests under HPS by now.

Congrats on the thread Bean! I knew you had it in you! ha.
Peace.
