All right, after all that time I'm finally underway. I'm a bit behind when I wanted to start but its ok. it's better late than never. I'll make another post about everything that went down which caused some setbacks.

I also wanted to give a big thanks to all that have helped me, answered my questions, put me at ease and told me not to stress and to just get on with it lmao! There are too many of you to list but I appreciate all of your help, you guys are great! To the ones who I've gotten to know on a more personal level, I also wanted to say thank you for all of your help as well! I also wanted to give a big shout out to my homies over at @GorillaSeedBank.

Alright here we grow.

Strain'~ Mexican Airlines & Blackberry Kush

Medium~ Roots Organics in 5gal smart pots.

Nutrients~ Roots Organics

Grow space~ 2×4 Gorilla Grow Tent

Lighting~ HLG 320 Watt QB XL V2 lm301b

I started to germ both beans last Friday. I put them in plastic cups with filtered water. Water ph was 6.5, by Sunday afternoon they both had tap roots sticking out about 2mm.

I put the seedlings directly into 5 gallon smart pots and gave them the same filterd water that I used to germinate them with. I did not put them directly into the roots organics soil as I'm afraid the soil would be to hot for seedlings and burn the shit out of them. So, I dug a little hole in the roots organics about 1"×1" and filled it half way with organic seed starting mix. Took the seedlings out of the plastic cup with tweezers and placed them with the tap root down and put seed starting mix over them and lightly packed it down. I cut two 20liter plastic bottles in half and put them on top of the seed starting mix to use as a humidity dome with the spout facing up. I left them in the dark.

Today I finally had time to put my QB kit together. When I was finished putting the light together I opened the tent to check the temp and humidity level. The temp with no light on for the last few days has been 73 degrees F and the humidity level was at 75%. When I was finished putting together my light while checking the temp and humidity I noticed that they broke through the soil. Soil was still damp so I left it. Now that they both broke through I've got the light 3' above the pots. Light is on full blast because I dont have a long enough screwdriver to stick in the damn driver to dim it. I also took a few pictures and here they are.

Quick update with a couple pictures of the ladies & my set up.

3 1/2 days since the ladies broke through the soil

I have not had to add any H20 since I popped the diy humidity dome over them.
My light is 15" away from their tops, running at about 160 watts (dimmed atwd). Temps have been constant at 77°F & RH has been stable at 75%, vpd 8.0 I do not have the extraction fan running. It is on a digital thermometer set at 85 as a precaution. I do have one of my clip on fans running on low 4 feet above the canopy to circulate some air, moisture and to provide them with a very light breeze for strength.

Here are the pictures of my set up.
Blackberry Kush on the left
Mexican Airlines on the right.
I brushed the bottom of the humidity dome against the top of the Bbk so it has a speck of soil and perlite on the leaves. I gently wiped her with a paper towel to keep my fingers off of her but there is still a little remnants on her, I dont want to mess with her too much. I popped the humidity domes back over them. I'm hoping the moisture will clean her off in a few hours. If not I'll give her a light blast of some high quality H20. I'm hoping I dont have to do that as I'm afraid the light will magnify through the water droplet and give her a burn.

They are praying to the QB Gods today.
Not bad for 5-1/2 days old.
Temps, Rh, Vpd, Lighting, Fan' are all the same as of today. Monday was an exception to that. I had the pre-filter open all the way. I closed it 3/4 of the way late monday night/early tuesday morning and it's been on point since.

Also, they have been out of the humidity domes' since I tried to post the damn pictures last night!
I wanted to see if they could handle what I dialed in. Seems Toasty to me! :hump:

1st week update:

The ladies are 8 days old from germination today!
I've been giving them filtered water that has been sitting in a 5 gallon bucket with a pump & airstone since I took the domes off. The PH of the water is 6.5 and I've been giving each plant a 1/4 cup of water each day since last thursday.

Today I added a bit of root growth enhancer (Roots organics- Oregonism Xl) just a tiny pinch to a half cup of water distributed evenly between both plants.

Temps, Rh, Light, Vpd are all the same.

Also, when I checked them last night, they were the same size as the pictures I tried to upload last thursday. When I checked them this morning to water them, they grew double the size they were last night!

Bro! Holy shit they look amazing already! As much as you've been dealing with bro you are on the fucking money! Now I got future goals for a grow space! I love your setup!!! I will be working towards getting a very similar setup one day in the future. I love the look of that vortex fan and that light! That light dude looks so nasty!( good thing) I cannot wait to see how well these plants produce for you. Very happy you got it all up and goin! Keep up the good work brother. You fucking got this!

I've got them in 5 gallon fabric pots.
Lol yeah I thought so, its been over a decade since my last grow and I'm dealing with some injuries. Thought it would be best to start small as I've never used any equipment like this. Years ago when I made those runs, I used dirt from the backyard. not soil but just straight shitty dirt in plastic pots with a 4 bulb t5, miracle grow and bag seed in my off campus appartment closet. Had no ventalation no nothing lol. We had internet back then but not like it is now. Had no idea what to do. No grow guides or any type of resources. I was able to find an anatomy of a cannabis plant picture in an old encyclopedia I also found one online which was a huge deal back then. I used that to tell the sex of the plants. Now when you search for one online there are tons of those plant anatomy pictures. Not back then, the only one I could find was distorted because the net was so new then.
I was lucky enough to meet a grower at our hempfest who kind of explained things to me but we were both so high I think we just yesed each other lmao. The only thing I remember him telling me, from what I remember now was light sechudual'. I was able to cull the male in the first run and got almost 9oz dried from 3 plants then. That was the same for the two other runs after. except I got lucky and didnt have any males the second or third run.

Dont hate but neither lol..I'm running autos this run. I'm sick of paying almost 900 a month on the pots (I smoke joints like most people smoke cigarettes) I'm trying to build a decent stash up so I'll have some smoke when I run my photos. Autos are also more forgiving than photos so I thought it would be a good way to get everything dialed in for the photo grows and not have to worry as much. Plus being severely injured autos are a bit easier for me In my situation.

Thanks brother! It has been alot and very stressful to deal with. This has made me happy & I'm happy to be up and running finally!

I figured you would like the setup. Not the biggest space but it's good for now and a bit easier to manage due to what's going on. I do eventually plan to get another tent and will use this for veg and clones. I do love your shower set up though!

The light was fun to build and it's very bright even though its dimmed. I cant wait to build on it. I want to grab a few strips to put on those horizontal poles for lower lighting, I'm not sure if I'll actually need it but it's cool to be able to add that if I want. I'm definitely going to add some uv and far red in there as well. that fan is really nice and quiet. Its hooked up to a temp controller right now. I did buy a variable speed controller but when I plugged it in to try it out. The damn thing made the fan sound like a 747 and that was at 90% I dialed down to 80%. the thing sounded like a B2 and a virgin humming and screaming. I unplugged it right away as I dont want to screw my fan up or listen to a virgin getting railed by a B2. I had to get a veriac controller. It adjusts the voltage in the fan so it will not hum. Those other controllers are garbage, they just start and stop the fan motor at excessive rates, eventually causing motor failure as well as making a high pitched screeching/humming noise. The vortex controller is no better. I spoke with the technical support department about it and that's what they told me. Then I thought to my self. maybe a variac might work, I checked google to see if people use them in this sort of application and sure enough people do. I advise anyone who has a fan to get a variac controller if they have that problem. they are a bit more in price but for the peace of mind, knowing that it's going to work properly and not blow the fan you cant go wrong.

I cant wait for when you up grade! Knowing you, I know it's going to be insane!
