hello every one!!!

Got home last night thinking about making a cool tube for the 400w, bacause I found a 6" wide and 18" long clear glass straight vase at the store for 25$ thought about it, then smoked :leaf: about it, and came up with an easy solution. Took the 1k bulb out and installed the 400w socket bracket I made in there using pre existing holes and screws on top of cool hood, easy and works great and love how stable the temps are .

here are some pics of the new set up

you can see the 1k socket on the left and the 400w on the right

more garden pictures

and this is how they look today... better than yesterday!!

temps 78f
water temp 67.4
ph 5.9
ppm 280

love the 400w, the temps stayed like that all the time .Thinking about using the 400w all the way up to right before flowering? because the heat generated by the 1k . I think a 600w would have been better for the 5 x 5 x 7 tent .

The 400w MH should be great for vegg!

One question, I was looking thru your pics...Do you have a circular fan for air movement?

:wall:when should I use the 400cfm exhaust or the 250cfm intake? should I even use an intake? I've read alot about it, but I am kind of confused. I'm using the 400cfm 18/6 with the lights and the 250cfm 24/0. with the 1k I have to vent to a nother room or the temps will reach 88f . with the 400w im venting in to the same room after gone thru carbon filter and temps are 77f should I even use the filter now? I made it most to control smell when flowering. oh!! I dont have a circ fan and I've been putting it off ... im getting one tomorrow!!! thanks :peace:

i dont agree with intake fans, the exhaust PULLS air in, so it is both intake and exhaust.

remove the filter untli you smell 'em, and run whichever fan you want to use during veg 24/7. You could probably use the 250cfm for exhaust with the 400watt light, and when you turn the 1000watt on you can go back to the 400cfm.

i dont agree with circulation fans either, in small spaces. but your space isnt that small compared to mine, so you may benefit from it.

thank you for the support gumball!! I didnt use circulation fan in my last closet grow either , but I think after reading some about it, my grow will benefit from it . I will run the 400w with the 250cfm to see what kind of temps I'll get and if under or around 80 I'll use it . :peace:

I dont run an intake either. I like my room to have negative preasure. Keeps the stink from seeping out the cracks. I run my exaust 24/7. It gets too humid in my room if i dont. I believe circ fans are bennifical to keep the air from getting stale and helps to keep your stems strong. I acually abuse my plants a lil so the will make scar tissue and grow stronger at the base. Plants outside have to deal with alot of shit rain, wind, animals and it helps them to become stonger. Like hardening off. Inside they got it easy. And without some abuse the limbs will break with the weight of the bud. Thats why i also use a screen, because a plant wont break its branch. Meaning it will stop producing bud on that branch if it feels like its going to break. But if its supported it will fatten up nicely.

hey dirtfree , I think you made a very good point on what the plants have to deal outside and how they adapt and become stronger when put thru some stress. I like the Idea of the screen also. I've never thought about the plants stopping producing bud to keep the branches from breaking , that makes so much sense. I have a circ fan now blowing right on top of them and I've seen a lot of growth in the last two days, also I'm thinking on lst'em very soon in a few days? thanks :peace:

Lookin a lil burnt. Id say back off the nutes some. Your leaves shouldnt be curling under. I give my plants just water untill they have real leaves. Three blades or more.

yep! I'm just trying to figure out what they want. The leafs started doing that a few days ago so I added nutes thinking they might of used all the energy they had. tomorrow its rezzy change so.. I'm going to use distilled water instead of my well water with no nutes and see what happens from there.

Yes no nutes for a while! Dont forget what you are growing.......A WEED! It doesnt need much. I have given plants just water and very little nutes cause its all i had left and they turned out great. Well water is good if not the best. It has other things in it that are bennifical. Plus no colorene(prob spelled wrong) It will have trace minnerals like zinc calcium magnessium. Other wise you will have to add a cal-mag supplement. Just things to think about. Bottled water is not always best.

Yeah, I have read on some bottle water it had sodium bicarbonate and something else that didn't sound too good, can't think of it right now.

Everything looks so clean!! Great work!

I have a friend that works at a lab so...I gave him a sample of my well water and he called me a few minutes ago to tell me my water its very clean with high concentrations of cal, mag and some other trace minerals good for plants and comes out off the well at 200ppm. My plan from the begining was to use this water with no nutes for a few weeks but I guess I miss read the plants and somewere along that path I change my tactics. I stil don't know why the leafs starting doing that with no nutes in the water.

thats great well water. is it a deep well, or shallow.

i may have led you a littel astray, i did suggest the mild nutes. lesson learned on both counts:bigjoint:

It's a deep well and now I know its great for sure. And my friend suggesting something and making someone do something they don't want to do are totally diferent thing I apreciate your help and you are more than welcome to keep suggesting lol! And if we all can learn from my mistakes I'd have to say it was worth it . :bigjoint: :peace:

Nice thread! I know nothing about hydro(all soil fo me) but your setup looks like it should be on a spaceship!NIce!
Def. get the circ. fan it will stir up Co2 in the air and Co2 settles to the ground.
I have a Sentinel controller and with intake and w/out there was hardly any PPM diff. For my home I should say cause all homes are diff. Alot depends were your grow is located from your Furnace or water heater if it is propane.
I love your homemade Carbon Filter. So much better than others Ive seen cause yours mimics store bought ones. Prob the same dam thing but you saved 100bucks NIce dude will be following for sure.

thanks for stoping by theorganic .
got the circ fan going and I've seen some difference already.Thank you for the compliments on my growroom and the filter. The filter was a very simple design, and very easy to put together, it took me longer to gather the parts . Feel free to comment here about anything you want doesn't matter the topic.
