I've got like three different kinds....maybe....We will see.
I thought those thrips where gnats. I wasnt too worried. Then I learned about thrips.
I havent found sandblasted leaves yet. Thank GOD! They do look not quite 100% though.
I still cant find my damn magnefying glass. And everyone of these things is too small to take a picture of.

Tempted to do spraying at night because the pores will be closed and I hear it is safer. But I hate fucking up the night shift.

Any suggestions?

What worked for you? What bugs did you have?

Shamefully nothing. I tried all sorts of things. Then just scrapped the grow completely. Tore the room apart. Bleach washed every inch over and over. Last clones I ever took into my grow.

plants were about 4 weeks into flower. Broke my heart , but it wasn't worth putting new stock into the room with aphids still present.

I nuked them lil bastards.

They just laughed at everything.

24, 5 ft fully topped plants thrown out. Could have probably waited and still had some bud from it , but I hate bugs. To me it was worth it to rid the aphids , sanitize , and learn.

i would start with a fogger or two at night. I like the purple raid ones from HD. Bed big and flea. They are the same Ingredients as doctor dooms foggers , just a hair stronger. Work great. Natural killer. Plants dont even notice.

i would use this as a start. Make it part of the alternating poison schedule.

I am very quick to notice any problems. My room is small and I bring the plants out and inspect often. When I first noticed an issue I pulled them out and prepared them for spraying through mid flower with 10% milk solution. Hopefully prevent PM. I did this in extremly low light outside of the room by the intake. About 50-60 degrees. I let them freeze for a couple hours in milk water. I inspected each on very closely and made sure to spray hard under over and inbetween. Rubbing my hand all over the leaves, dripping in milk. I cut off any leaf or branch that was below or touching the rim of the pot.

I am going out to seek two if not three of the following.

Pyrethrin, good until final flushing
Neem, good for early flower
Predatory Mites, kills a lot of stuff then themselves.
A better surfactant then Dawn dish soap;-)

I'll probably skip adding more bugs...

Ill use the two Chemicals derived from plant products starting at 50%. Alternating between the two.

I'll do this in low light before night cycle to prevent clogging of the stomata.

Trying to keep it organic.

But I did just get slammed with Aphids, Thrips, Gnats, and the sick little spider mites. A learning I will go.

The trick will be in the careful and diligent method of application.

I'll show you.

Hydro shop was closed. I went to walmart and was so pleasently suprised by what I found. They are really trying to compete with the grow shops around here. Tons of Omri, organic, safe products. All sitting around and near the giant wall of round-up.

Garden Safe organic spray
Fungicide3
OMRI listed
fungus, insects, mites.
Active ingredient: Hydrophobic extract of Neem Oil 0.9%

Gerdentech Worryfree
Active ingridient: Pyrethrins
No claims of organic.
But it looks safe.

ORTHO
elementals insect soap
Organic spray
OMRI listed
Active ingriedient: Potassium salts of fatty acids 1%

All of them claim to be safe to use for fruits and vegitables up until the day of harvest.

All of them where on clearance at walmart and came to a grand total of 25$

I highly recommend hitting up garden clearance now. Its that beautiful time of year.

Ill soon be triming off the extra leaves and spraying with each. Probably lightly in a rotation, one at a time, weekly to bi weekly depending on plant response, until week 5.

Ill probably do Pyrethrin First, then Neem, Then K salts. In the next two weeks.

See how they look from there.

Pyrethrin Kills fast. On adult bugs. Ok for using in mid flower.
Neem kills babies and eggs. Best as early as possible. Also contains fungicide.
K salts seem like the softest pesticide and disipates quickly. Best option for late flower if neccisary.

So happy that I just got such a great deal at walmart of all places. I was just going to check cause the grow shop was closed.

I've been working on it for two days now. By this time I was closely inspecting and I did have a very large infestation of multiple bugs.
I pulled all the plants out and bleached the walls and floors and every corner I could find.
I trimmed the lower 25% of all of the plants to thin them out and remove bug hiding spots.
I mixed 1 oz pyrethrins with 32 oz. 50% recommended dose.
I emptied the bottle on the room and the plants. Just to the point of drip.
Under over in between.
I took each stem and ran my hand from the bottom to top to rub the bottom of all the leaves.
I turned off the HPS and went with cfl for the rest of the day.

Next day. The thrips where decreasing. But the Aphid looking guys all over the pots where still in the 1000's
I mixed 2 oz pyrethrins with 32 oz this time. double.
I took out the plants.
I sprayed the room till driping, in every corner.
I sprayed the outside of the containers and drip trays.
I lightly misted the whole plants a little.
I wanted something that I could spray the dirt with so I used K salts after drenching the soil with mild EWC tea to drown the bugs, if it wasnt still wet. And hopefully keep my micro biology working in there. They are using a lot less water.
I have been able to keep the temps low at 60-75 and the humidity is 30-60.
I just checked in there. I did find a couple bugs. But barley. After checking 5 times over an hour or so.
I'll see how it works for the next week.
I expect to be spraying again in a week. This time with the Neem.

If they are indeed root aphids. No Omri product will kill them. If the thrips don't stop, get malathion before your too far.

Look into gnatrol might help you figure out if they are aphids or gnats. I would suggest not putting in any new babies until these are done.

Thank you.
Most of them are purple strains.
That one is blackberry. I started flowering purple.
These products are definitely not going to completely eradicate them. But they will help me make it to the end.
I'm moving in two months (:
I'm new to organics. OMRI just makes it easy.

I'm giving them a little break on spraying today. The dropping temps are helping immensely with bugs too.
The buds will be nice if I can get them past 8 or 10 weeks.

The bud leaves are getting some canoe claw leaves. I did just water with EWC tea. I did just spray the buds. I drenched them and its been cold.
Not sure.
I'm pretty sure they will come back.
Just trying to let them be.
