Yeah i was under the assumption that this soil should have had a PH of around 6.5 but, as i said previously though i think i might have been fucking things up a bit when adjusting my ph because after an hour of sitting that last jug was up to 8.5 when it started at 7, I'm most definitely going go more acidic next time i water I'm not sure what exact number though, i had been watering at about 7.0.

Man this PH shit is really starting to piss me off, i just went to water my plants today and i checked the PH on the water and it was 9.5, last time i watered i got the PH to 7.0 i waited one hour or so and checked it again and it was 8 something so i used this jug to dilute the other one and bring the PH back down on the one i was going to water with, so i took one 16 o/z glass from each jug and swapped them and here i am 3 days later and this jug is up to 9.5 this water is usually sitting around 5.0 when i first pop the cap... I am seriously thinking i have fucked up the soil with this PH up shit and am tempted to stop using it all together...

I went out and bought some new water i have been reading some threads that say you don't need to adjust the PH of the water for soil and that it can actually be harmful to the soil, also i figure since my soil is so alkaline i don't really want to put any PH up into the water i figure it would be better to start more acidic and see what happens so I'm going to water with out adjusting the PH a few times and see what happens, the ph of the water i used was 5.8-5.9 and i just checked my run off and on my blue cheese it was 7.3-7.4 and my white Russian was 7.7.

Well my water starts out low according to my meter so i had been using PH up to get the PH to 7.0, i am confused though from what i have read RO water is supposed to be near 7.0 because it has nothing in it to make it acidic or alkaline and yet my water is always in the lower 5s when i first open it.

Well last night i decided to test the PH of my medium not just the run off, so i mixed 1/2 cup of soil and 1.5 cups of water in a glass and when i tested it 2 hours or so later after lots of mixing my PH came out to 7.1 does anyone know how much gypsum i should add per 4.5 gallon container to bring the PH down to 6.5?

Well its been a few days since i posted pics so I'm going to throw some up, i am doing some maintenance to the room before i start flowering today so I've got some pic's of them out of the room i am still trying to sort this PH thing out I've got some gypsum but I'm not sure how much to use, I'm thinking about doing a flush before the plants go back in but i don't know if that's okay since i am using a premixed soil.

Anyways here are some pic's of the white Russian,

and here are some pic's of the blue cheese.

Well the plants are just about to wake up from their nap, i had the lights set to turn off at 7am and they will be coming back on here at 7pm, I'm going to pull the plants out and put them in the bath tub so i can flush them, its not a full flush since i am to cheap to buy 30 fucking gallons of water to flush 2 4.5 gallon pots, i also don't want to wash all the amendments out since its a super soil, i guess you could call it 1/3 of a flush since I'm using 10 gallons 5 per plant. My hopes are that it will help bring down the PH of my soil but i guess we will have to wait and see what happens, i really hope it helps out with the PH issue.

I don't think they are gnats I've had a gnat infestation before and the wings are on the out side of them when landed, these bastards inclose there wings in a hard beetle like shell when they are not flying around so i don't know exactly what they are but i have not seen anything that looks like them on any cannabis infestation chart's so i am hoping they wont do much damage, they don't seem to be effecting the grow to much though so i am trying to pretend that they are not there lol....

I am yesterday was their first day off flowering, another thing about these bugs they do have wings but it seems like they rarely use them, like yesterday i disturbed each plant quite a lot getting the plants in and out of the scrog crates, but i didn't see any of them fly out when i did it and i very very rarely see them flying around the room.
