Alright so today i decided to tackle the ventilation issue i took my whole room a part and it was just as much of a pain in the ass as i had anticipated, after i got into the attic i noticed that same smell that i had been noticing coming from the utility closet, i don't think the smell was the weed i think that the positive air pressure in the attic caused the musty dankish smell from the attic to start seeping down threw the holes in the wall of the utility closet and that's why i started noticing it when i had completed my ventilation set up. So i decided fuck it I've already come this far i might as well throw the filter on at the end like i was planning to do so that i can be sure that any odor leaks in my ventilation system are being taken care of, i just hooked up my fan and the sound that is coming from this fucking thing is insane i knew this would be a problem that's why i had originally mounted it in the attic behind the particle board so it would dampen the sound. So right now i am half way threw reassembling the system with just a few hours left before lights out and i don't know what to do about the sound.

Google DiY exhaust fan silencer or similar. You will find tons of options. I built one with a box of the right size for the fan to sit in and holes cut on either side. Stuffed old sheets in the space to fill the void and now I have to listen closely or be right by the fan to hear it. You can use an assortment of items to fill the void, just make sure it doesn't get extremely hot and that the area leading into the fan is closed off so none of your silencing material can get in and obstruct the fan. I will post a pic in a moment of my closed off unit. Not gonna pull it apart, just want u to have a visual idea

DiY Fan silencer for veg cab. Works great, can only hear the slight flow of air. That could also be fixed with an air flow silencer/disperser or something like that. I personally made mine with a slight gap from the actual unit for safety reasons. The result if not done properly would most likely be a fire or short out the electrical line. To be safe google up some DiY. Been running continuos for about 6 months with no problems at all!! Peace

The sound is actually not so bad now that i have the entire system hooked up, yes it is still noticeable from our bed room but i do not intend on any one going in there, for the moment every thing is hooked up correctly... And the sound of the fan is not such a huge problem the majority of the problem comes from the sound of the fan moving the air not from the sound of the blades moving, so what i really need to dampen is the intake of the ventilation...

shorting out or having a fire is not much of a problem for me i have a flame defender to take care of any fire hazzards that may decide to get out of control and as far as the electric issue goes i know enough about what i am doing to have that issue never be a problem...

Well fuck i opened up my closet today to a depressing sight, i was going to water this morning at around 6 am i was pushing it a little bit it would have been about 4 days and 10 hours since the last watering the reason i was waiting was because i was waiting 48 hours for my EWC tea to finish, so anyways i got drunk last night and forgot about it until after lights out and when i opened up my closet today my blue cheese is as limp as a wet noodle. Its weird it looks like a lot of leaves have yellowed up and fallen off i knew that the plants would wilt a lot if they were stressed from not having water but it really seems like the water shortage killed off a large quantity of leaves, i could be wrong and the plant may just not look very full but it doesn't look so good right now, hopefully over the next few days it will recover.

Well i guess its time for another pic update, the blue cheese has more less recovered from the drought like conditions but seems to be a bit behind the white Russian, i think i may have stunted her a little bit, and the white Russian is trucking a long as usual.

Nice man, U have that canopy filled/ing in pretty tight. Now don't let them get that dry anymore and u should have a decent harvest

Lol yeah i got quite a few bud sites going on there, again this is my first scrog/grow so I'm not sure its perfect but its looking pretty good to me, the plants seem to have finished up there initial stretch so i think I'm going to stop tucking them under the screens, i am very happy to be so far a long there were a few times that i didn't think i was going to make it this far.

So i just went in to water today and i noticed that there were some leaves that had dried up and fallen off around the bottom of the pots, when i got down there to water i noticed that there was a large quantity of leaves that had dried and shriveled up still hanging on the plants so i started clearing them off the plants when i say a large quantity i mean very large probably 20-30 % of the leaves that were under the screen have shriveled up and died i thought i was in the clear but it seems like that might not be the case.

Does any one know could the lack of light at the bottom of the scrog be causing this problem?

yup. some people aggressively trim everything under the screen because this happens, others let the plant selectively wither the leaves that don't get enough light, pulling nutrients and water out of the tissue. not a big deal

Thanks for the info man, i was quite shocked when i looked up under there and found so many dead leaves, I'm so glad my girls are doing alright so many times during this grow i thought they were fucked but it turns out i was fucking them up by PH adjusting the input water, since i have stopped doing that they both look so much better.

I was PH adjusting my water to 7.0 every watering and i believe it was locking out nutrients from my plants because the PH of the medium was to alkaline, since i have stopped adjusting the PH of my water my plants are looking more less perfect and are not showing any where near as many signs of nutrient problems.

Cannabis plants can tolerate a wide range of pH, just as long as it is stable over the plants life time.

Most of the time PH rises in soil/less. You will hear of rare occurences of having a low ph in soil. 2 things cause this, first and most importantly is the use of tap water with high amounts of sediment. It can be controlled by making sure your mixture is slightly lower than where you want it. For instance if your target is 6.5, then look for your mixture to b in the 5.8 - 6.2 range. Over time you will get build-up unless you are doing a proper, fertz, water, water. That being said all of it depends on your base soil and the fertz u r using. All vary slightly. You are organic so i'm not quite sure how it swings as i'm new to orgs!! It works the other way also, for instance if you are using R.O (reverse osmosis) water you can find that you run into a low ph in your soil due to the fertz, also if not flushed properly, based on your medium/fertz. Most chemical fertz lower ph, or any i've played with do. Key thing is to make slight adjustments and only one thing at a time, so you can find out what is creating the problem. Write it all down and your next round should b a complete success as you've found the issues and now know how to resolve them. Looks good and look forward to riding this to the finish with u. Thanks for the comments guys, i am going to do a video update here shortly now that i have buds forming on the plants, I'm about 24 days into flowering and there are bud sites popping up every where i can't wait for harvest...

I am so excited i can see the sugar leaves popping up every where on my plants but i did notice something quite strange yesterday when i was watering my plants, in the drip pans below my plants i noticed some type of growth it looks like there is a film or a layer of slime sitting on top of the drainage water, i am assuming that this is because of the EWC tea i gave my plants last week can anyone confirm, is this something i should be concerned about?
