Which bike would you guys buy? It is more beginner. I ride on the smooth road mostly and considered a hybrid. I like road bikes but I do not like flats and skinny rims.

Basically a more beginning Mtn bike. I think I like 27.5" rims versus 29" Also 19" or 21" frame for 6'2" person???.

I like the Fuji color. I rode a cheap Fuji years ago that was too small and it seem like the seat stem and handlebars were too close. The Fuji with tax and shipping is about $393.

I would recommend keeping your eye out for a good used bike in your area. You can generally find a much better used bike for the same price as a much less new one. Buying new you take the biggest value hit like cars as well.

This is one of the best deals on the Internet right now. I would not recommend cheap full suspension bikes. And bikes direct uses crappy parts in places like hubs and bottom bracket/cranks so be careful.

Stick with good bike shop brands. Performance bike and bike warehouse have a lot of closeouts and leftovers still like jenson.

It is well worth a couple hundred dollars more for quality frame and parts. Entry level name brand is good stuff usually.

For fit I would go to a bike shop and ride some bikes. Also a lot of info on the internet.

A 29er will ride smoother than a 27.5 of the same width for the most part.

Plus tire bikes are more expensive. They are the new thing past 2 years.

I meant to say Fuji, diamondback and Raleigh have some decent entry level hardtails available direct. If you buy shipped direct to you and don’t know about basic bike assembly and maintenance I suggest paying a good shop to do it.

The wheels will likely need to be trued and the hubs and cranks may need adjustment just for starters.

I had to adjust the wheels, brakes and headset on mine and tighten things up a bit and rei was supposed to do it. It was safe but not right.

And then after a few rides a new bike needs a tune up again from stretching cables and loosening bolts and such. I had to the adjust my derailleur.

All normal and to be expected.

A local shop may have a good deal on a Scott that is a entry level but decent. Thanks.

I have a 2014 specialized carbon light as hell and the drive train is awesome and super smooth. The only downside is the price.

Go to your local bike shop. Ride the selection of bikes they have that fit you. Hybrid, flat bar, mountain whichever is the most comfortable for you, in your price range and geared for the riding you intend to do such as aerobic, road winnie, mtb guru or just the average weekend warrior. Attached one of my favorite rides.

I hit the Bay today and climbed this ridge~top starting at the valley streets below . Pretty brutal climb it took about an hour to get to that height then it was a cool nice straight shot all down hill back.

This is an endurance ride at Andrew Molara SP with a Double reward at the end, Once you ride and hike 700' in elevation with some overhead bike carrying thru bushes you get a killer view to rest up with before the Adrenalin ride down hill.

Yah def need to ride and see which one fits your needs and budget. My bike cost the same as a cheap beater car.

From a cheap bike yes. But new entry level bike shop bikes are pretty awesome. Mine is 1100 and has a1x11 drivetrain and an air fork just like the upper models. And the same frame. They even sell a titanium version of the same frame for $2200 just for the frame.

I just realized my kayak cost as much as my used van too. Lol

I was an automobile dealer manager during my 20 year career and used to love cars and trucks.

Apparently now I could care less what I drive. There are rust holes through the doors of my 200k miles Michigan van.

My toys are shining with new colorful finishes.

I have a 2010 Kona Dew Plus.The reason I have kept it all these years is because it fits me so well, it works really well all around. I ride mostly bike trails not any mountain trails with it. THe disc brakes work exceptionally well and so do the gears. I would say its a lot like my Toyota Corolla in a way that it fits great and is super reliable , never needs any maintenance other then tune ups occasionally. Worth a test ride for shure.Good Luck!
