miracle gro sucks? lol

Yeah that sounds decent. You'll also want earthworm castings. They may sell this at the Depot, but i'm not sure. Earthworm castings are key to every good soil mix. They provide a great source of nitrogen and all sorts of other biological goodies.

i have been using 100% miracle gro, now, i'm using mixed
but, i will be transplanting, in a dark room, under a green light

so, i hope, she doesn't go through a serious shock
 
you can use Merical Grow the only reason why people don't use / like it is because they add to much nutes and it causes burns.

1 - don't use alot of nutes
2 - do a soil flush every 2 weeks

^ yeah? i haven't flushed my plants soil, ever...
but, i just want to be on the safe side, lol...
 
I wouldn't worry too much about shock. If you handle the transplant properly and don't disturb the root ball, you'll probably only notice some slight drooping for for the first 24 hours. Then, the leaves will perk back up and growth will continue.

headies420 - I'm not talking about live earthworms. What i'm talking about is earthworm castings, which are the excretions left behind by earthworms after they finish digesting the organic matter that makes up their diet. While the castings are concentrated and rich in nitrogen, they are gentle enough to be applied in direct contact to sensitive plant roots without fear of burning. Worm castings also supply magnesium, phosphates, calcium, potassium, and potash, along with a range of micro-nutrients and trace elements.

nothing wrong with any soil, so long as you understand how it was made and if it has nutes infused in it.

Always mix more perlite in it for drainage.

Dont get stupid crazy about additives. Potting soil for the most part is healthier than outside soil............

Yeah, that's why it's sold at so many hydroponics and garden centers, and recommended by all the experts. Get real man. It may be suitable for houseplants, and with a lot of tweaking and supplementation it could be used to grow marijuana if there's absolutely nothing else available, but why would anyone with any knowledge and experience choose to use it over the numerous other choices that are so much more appropriate?

If that's all that is readily available to you, I understand that. If you don't have the money to spend on better stuff, I understand that. Hell, if you are just growing bag seed and you really don't care that much about producing the best possible weed, I understand that. But if you are results-oriented, knowledgeable, and have invested a good chunk of money on lights, fans, and other grow-room goodies, then why the hell would you choose to use such an inferior product?
 
Cuz MG grows my plants like they're in hydro. Oh, and it wouldn't be sold in so many places if it weren't the shit. Inferior?.... take a look at FDD's pics on page one. ;-)
 
I have seen his pics and they are awesome. That proves that he is a highly experienced and skilled grower who knows what he's doing. It certainly doesn't prove that Miracle Grow is a fantastic product. MG is sold at grocery stores and places like WalMart because is cheap, easy to use, and provides good results for a wide range of plants regardless of the users skill level. None of that has anything to do with its suitability for growing marijuana. If you use it and get good results, then good for you. Unfortunately, that is not the case for a majority of marijuana growers. Again, there are many other products available that are much more appropriate and problem-free in marijuana grow-ops.
