Are you kidding? That would be sacrilege.really. how quick would this thread die if they just said "yeah, he's wrong on this one" and moved on?

To do that- he might have to accept all his pay and benifits that he refusesSo you admit that you expect him to pay out of his own pocket?
he doesn't even have to. but he would if he were serious about saving the taxpayers' money. So you admit that you expect him to pay out of his own pocket?
Okay, so this leads me to mention that I work for "local" government (I am SO TIRED of the narc talk so save your breath and blow it up your own paranoid ass, please!) and it's totally the norm to book refundable tickets. They are more expensive than a regular "non-contract, non-refundable" fare, but that's just the cost of doing business... In the long run, it would be MORE costly the other way around... I know, all commerce is a fucking racket, I'm with you!!!"We always get him full refundable tickets since the congressional schedule sometimes changes quickly," said Jeff Deist, Paul's chief of staff. Paul might have to pay out of his own pocket for canceled flights in some cases if he didn't buy refundable tickets, Deist said.
Isn't travel part of his job and this is an expense that his employer provides for?he doesn't even have to. but he would if he were serious about saving the taxpayers' money.
if he was serious about saving the american taxpayer money, a little mental calculus tells us that it would take about 50 canceled flights to add up to the $25,000 he lumps onto the taxpayers by going first class. something tells me that he doesn't have to cancel that many flights.
they also sell refundable tickets for coach, ya know.
I almost posted this myself earlier. Unlike other Ron Paul supporters I'm not going to rush to his defense on this one. He's got to defend himself and I'm sure it will come up soon. Otherwise, if he avoids answering it or anything like that then I'm voting for Johnson.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/16/paul-fights-washington-sp_1_n_1208775.html?ref=politics
"Paul paid $51,972 for his government-rate flights between Washington and Houston between May 2009 and March 2011, or more than twice the $24,351 average airfare on Continental for travel between Washington and Houston."
he's a millionaire, why is he using our money to get a better seat? hypocritical little gnome.
^ I really need to learn to pay more attention lol..my dumbass said:I don't understand whats with the inconsistent numbers that are being reported though.
Boston Globe said:Paul charged taxpayers nearly $52,000 on the more expensive tickets, or $27,621 more than the average Continental airfare for the flights between Washington and Houston.
as i've said, i have no problem footing the bill for this millionaire's airfare, although i think the hefty paycheck he makes as a congressperson can cover it easily.Isn't travel part of his job and this is an expense that his employer provides for?
And we employ his so we pay the cost of him doing his job
No narc talk here lol. Not by me anyways.Okay, so this leads me to mention that I work for local government (I am SO TIRED of the narc talk so save your breath and blow it up your own paranoid ass, please!) and it's totally the norm to book refundable tickets. And on that note, I think it's fucking stupid that we pay for politicians to fly around for such an expense. Where the fuck are they going so much? Seriously, there should be a limit that each job description is allowed to spend, and they should be limited to that. If you are on a super committee and you have to fly to the super Bahamas, that is fine. But just because some senator from Oklahoma decides she is interested all of a sudden in the rain forest and she takes her family, well, I call bullshit. (I just totally made that up.)
Oh, and first class is TOTALLY BULLSHIT!
Ron Paul's walk backs up his talk 99.99% of the time. The man is consistent on everything, has been forever, and his walk is still a whole shit ton straighter than the competition.the comparison in this thread is between ron paul's talk and ron paul's walk.
this is a non-issue. i could care less about it, really. i just wanted to rile the paulbots.I almost posted this myself earlier. That being said, I know you saw this as important message to get out (fully justified), but remember that whole thing about being fair with the thread mergers? I've been working hard to keep ron paul shit in ron paul threads...
This pisses me off to if it is true-what i do have a problem with is him preaching about being so fiscally conservative, yet foisting $25,000 worth of upgrades to first class upon taxpayers like you and i.
That i'm not sure of. i DO know that Yahoo reported that his office provided all requested documents regarding travel expenses. So is he going home every weekend or something? REALLY? Blows my mind...
Just wondering. Where does a guy like Ron Paul who has made between $100-174k a year come up with 5-6 million dollars? He seems to have somehow saved up more money than he's earned from his lifetime total congressional salary. That's really impressive.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/16/paul-fights-washington-sp_1_n_1208775.html?ref=politics

$50,000 over 2 years = $25,000 a year = about $500 a week just to fly this old gnome around. So is he going home every weekend or something? REALLY? Blows my mind...
If that was your mission, obviously you were successful lol.this is a non-issue. i could care less about it, really. i just wanted to rile the paulbots.
if this comes up in the MSM or as an issue whatsoever, that will just be another indictment of how badly this country sucks at focusing on what's important in a leader.
Don't mind me, just checking my friendand yes, i may merge this into a ron paul thread once it dies down, but i have laid off the merging thing ever since people (like yourself) took it upon themselves to make an effort.
the only threads i have merged were two anti-ron paul threads by sistermaryelephant.
i would tend to agree with you that he probably didn't have anything to do with upgrading. As to how many people he has managing his itinerary, idk.And I would be surprised if he made the choice to upgrade; he's probably got two people who would handle those administrative arrangements. (No dig, just an educated guess.)
