Does anybody else find his movies amazing?

i watched capitalism a love story today and it made me crazy. i cant belive the shit thats happening in our country. I mean this guy just blows my mind with the shit he uncovers and holds people responsible.

ive also seen the 9/11 movie and i can say that they both changed the way i look at society and how its run. and i even shed a few tears.

I am also shocked that there hasnt been widespread looting and riots because of these.

well i was just wondering what other ppl thought of them. and if you havnt seen them you need to!

Michael Moore, Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck. They are all smoke and mirrors. Sure, everything they say leads back to "truth" that can be looked up and verified. Great! In Economics 101 we learn that there is a name for this "magic trick". It is called a syllogism. Here is a semi famous example: All cats die. Socrates is dead. Therefore, Socrates must have been a cat. Two undeniable truths supporting a ridiculous conclusion. Look up the facts all you want. You will find facts to support everything they say. But they are masters of syllogism all the same.

so your telling me that when all of these blue chip companies laid off hundreds of thousands of employees and then had some of the highest profit years in history isnt true?

and the fact that the richest 1% in this country has more money than the bottom 99% put together.

and the only reason we had an economic boom was because we blew up japan and germany (our 2 biggest competitors in the automotive industry) its easy to be #1 when you take out your competiton.

also the companys taking out life insurance policies on thier employees so if they did die the company would get the money. that would be like taking out homeowners insurance on all of your neighbors and hoping something bad would happen to one of them so you could collect the insurance money (wich is illegal)

and i dont think michael moore is mad about what he got, he just sees how fucked up the system is and wants to change it. not for himself but for the people who suffer because of the greed of others.

and as far as the deception of obama i dont think he tried to decieve anybody i think he wanted to change america, but he didnt want to end up like another guy named kennedy who tried to do the same thing.

thats just my opinion, and ill check out that "deception of obama thing and get back with what i think of it"

p.s carnifreak, that shit about all cats dying is the most retarded thing ive ever heard. socrates is a cat....damn your stupid

I've seen it. Have you ever heard the expression "There are 2 sides to every story"? Michael's documentaries are very one-sided. Sure there is some truth to that shit, hell there might even be a lot of truth to it but you can't sum up this financial collapse in a 2 hour movie. It's way too complicated. There was no singular cause of the financial collapse. It was a complicated maze of events that led us to where we are now. Michael is a good story teller and entertainer but his movies are pretty much that...........entertainment! Too many people taking that shit as the gospel instead of doing their own critical thinking if you ask me. Greed will always be with us. Hating people who have more than us will not solve these problems. Capitalism at least gives people who have nothing a shot at wealth and luxury. Most other types of economies and governments do not. If you weren't born into money or ellite status you have no hope of ever making something of yourself. No system is perfect and there will always be the haves and have nots. What we need is a government who has an equal stake in the haves and the have nots. Probably will never happen but we can dream.:joint:

If capitalism worked why did they need 70 billion of taxpayer money to bail the fat cats out? if it where true capitalism those companys who couldnt manage themselves would have fallen and made way for other better run companys.

but no they got all that money and what did they do with it...gave out million dollar bonuses to all of the ceos and top financial advisors. sounds like a raw deal to me.

and the saying capitalism gives those with nothing the shot at something is fairly true..but like chappelle says "you better start entertaining these white people" because thats all the poor people can do. (with few exeptions) for example 50 cent becoming a rapper, lebron basketball, any poor dominican kid who can hit a baseball...

when this idea of capitalism started it was a great idea...but with so much corruption and greed its time for a change. the people running the biggest companys are running the government. not the people in the gov themselves. all of these laws are bought and its all to make the rich richer. and make it harder for people to start thier own buisnesses and get ahead in life( tax cuts for the rich, and more for the middle class)

Capitalism doesnt exist anymore.

There are 22,000 pages of tax code making the playing field not level for whoever happened to have the most effective lobbiest at the time. We are regulated up to our eyeballs... The system has been distorted beyond reality and now they are finally saying that capitalism has failed. No, it has been replaced with the crap we have today which has failed.

exactly its come to a point where its not a government but a buisness, these powerful companys have taken over and there is nothing that can be done. because they have it all figured out.

i mean honestly he(moore) asks people in the gov questions about why they are doing this bailout and where they came up with the numbers and they have no clue...they all just stare at him and say "ask so and so he might tell you" when these people are supposed to be overlooking and governing these decisions.

it just goes to show you the gov isnt run by polititions its run by the ceo's. and if you try and stop them your gona get capped in the skull.

You are talking about corporations, not capitalism... COMPLETELY different. Corporations operate with legal protections that do not apply to capitalism.

Capitalism is a type of economics. It allows everyone to compete on a level playing field. It gives people opportunity to compete. Michael Moore was given that opportunity to compete and has made himself alot of money. He doesnt seem to donate much of it though... Doesnt seem like such a humanitarian to me.

He completely misunderstands the concept of capitalism while attacking corporatism...

there should be no such thing as corporations. no business should get the rights of an individual.

no, what im trying to say is our capitalistic gov. has become more of a corperation. instead of those companys just falling because they couldnt make it, they influenced the government enough so that they would bail them out. it's as if the gov itself is bieng run by the companys more than congress.

everything in the last 10 years especially has been for these big companys, and not giving a damn about the average person. (not a level playing field if you ask me)

my point is pretty much if this were really level those companys wouldnt have gotten bailed out by we the taxpayers, they would have had to deal with it... and from the fall of those companys would rise new ones. thats bieng an even playing field to me. if you fuck up your out, and give someone else a chance at the top.

but this is not what happend, like i said before they fucked up and got 70 billion $ for it. and why, because these companys control the government.

Hey bud, what are you like 6 years old or something? I didn't invent the example that I gave. An economist named Steven Levitt did. Are you ready for the really funny part? He is VERY far from stupid. I bet you wouldn't ever catch HIM crying over a Michael Moore movie. Well... What about this? What about that? Well Michael Moore said... Man you can't even think for yourself, who are you calling stupid? I didn't say that anything Michael Moore said wasn't true. I said that everything he says is true and factual, and it can be looked up and verified! Please, continue with your four letter word misspelling, factoid repeating mindlessness. We need more proof that your parents were related.
