mexican brick weed

I thought that mexi was sexy.

I miss the high, it was giggly. The high was more enjoyable than what I get now, but that could very well be nostalgia and/or inexperience as a kid.

Postage scale with a nickel to calibrate for the win. It was 100 for an ounce and 800 a lb. (90s midwest), really made no sense, that was a steep ass volume discount. One thing that was funny was you could really tell there was like one dude bringing it all in as all the guys selling single pounds had the same shit. It was like a commodity, no variety, that was the marijuana for that month and you would smoke it and like it.

Last time I got some brick was 2010 or so. Hadn't seen it for a long time before that, wasnt very good. My guess is you can still find it for sale in midwest ghettos, but as some said, the modern brick weed is just sorta shitty modern hybrid weed handled very badly instead of nice sativas handled badly.

This sounds like my early teenage years using the postal scale and nickel. If you were right we let you get them for 800 all others were 12-14. Going around and everyone trying to resell you your flowers with a point or 2 higher not knowing where it really comes from. I agree brick weed is similair to a legal commercial op just very bad handling and processing/shipping.

I never heard that one before! But, hey, that's as good of an explanation as any! We used to measure how many "fingers" a bag was. A 4 finger bag was a generously full baggy.

I remember buying a kilo brick for our key of the month club. A kilo back then was 150 bucks, for 5 bucks you got a fold top baggie full to the brim.
The weed itself was that sweet smelling Mexican, smelled kind of like patchouli. Back then most good mexican had that sweet smell. I haven't smelled weed like that for 40 years. It definitely got you ripped and too much would give you a headache.

I live about 30 mins from the border and growing up we would call it Reggie. Ifit was weak reggie we’d call it swag or mersh. The quality was pretty consistently low to low mids with some rare gems. High was the old school giggly bits, munchies, red eyes (are my eyes red?), and you could smell it down range. Every year around December though there would be this stuff called Christmas bud. 35-40$ an oz and I would be these non pressed, big, lightly seeds, light green buds, and they were covered in red hairs. Miss that stuff (an oz would be like 3 nugs). You can find a few Xmas bud seeds out there but none of it is as Sativa Dom as this stuff used to be I’m guessing.

it wasn't until about 2002 that i started seeing actually good bud come out of mexico. this went on for another year or two. we were getting bricks of the high quality bubblegum, skunk 1, widow, etc. it was covered in crystals. there were between 15 and 3 seeds in an ounce. the ounces were paper thin because the had no seeds. huge buds you could see were just squished. it smelled great. i grew out some of the seeds from the purple stuff after i finally realized what was going on....some of it came out red. organic qp's of the seeds grown out sold for over 1500 in 2003.

What area in 2022?

texas 2002, not 2022. most of it was coming through of Htown i think. before that there was 'pretendica' in early 2001...perhaps that was the start of this. crystalled shwag....we also called it midgrade. cost was about 500 per lb. i saw some 200+ per oz brick that looked good, but it wasn't much better than the 500 a lb stuff. at the very end 2004ish everything was seeded like in the past. it was one of the weaker strains and it had 1000s of seeds. that was the end of that.

i know a dude that still gets shwag who lives in texas...he won't even smoke cali buds that were given to him free. he doesn't really like weed i guess.

over here in the uk, mexican brick and thai brick were interchangeable, so you never knew which was which unless you knew your smoke, which many didn't, there two differant colours for starters lol let alone differance in seed colour and high, which were quite close, but the mexican had that hit you in the bsck of the legs with a hammer as you walked along sensation if you hadent smoked it for a while lol plus it came from the bikers i was knocking with, so i knew which was mexican or thai, but funny listening to others claiming to be conasures and getting the two muddled up lol

I like brick weed. Kind of get sick of all the high end stuff. The brick stuff we used to get in UK was from Jamaica or Africa maybe and it tasted natural and had an interesting high imo

Ahh the brown frown.. Haven't seen that shit around in 20 or 30 years.. I remember back in the day of dumping bags on an album cover to get the seeds to roll off. There'd always be a random weed plant or 2 growing in the shit packed in the corners of my pickup truck bed from tossing seeds out lol.. The good old days..
