clean smell of mold comes to mind but its been forever since buying that shit weed. Didn't even know exactly what molded dry weed was from back in the day where we were lucky to get what we got and smoked it. Now that i know mold when I had a water wall leak not caught from the shower and my weed drying molded. That smell was the same as brick weed.

It was the most disgusting, lung ripping, cat urine you ever inhaled. Then there was the few floral citrus SKUNKS that were all orange, red and brown. I'd give a dozen designer seeds for a couple 80's seeds in most people's golf bags or tackle boxes. Down to 4 here. And sadly was what it isn't now. LOL.

You could get great stuff back in the old days. It never looked pretty, it came in every shade of brown, green, vomit, and black that exists in nature, but the quality of the high was def there sometimes. I mean, they did dump Coca Cola all over it. Now the cartels have replaced the long flowering sativas with the usual short flowering hybrid trash that people call "fire" strains nowadays, so there is no reason to try it out. If you want crappy hybrid weed just go to a dispensary.

Amen. I have 18 week who knows what that makes crazy clown hair popcorn. Taste like mold on first hit. None. Sterile separate tent.LOL. Will sit you down until you realize you were trying to think of something stuff. And yet less than some orange pop flavored Red Bud from the day.

Go for a walk in the woods come back home take the crap off the bottom of your shoe roll it up and smoke it VOILA

Why did they dump Coca Cola on it or do you mean cocaine on it?

I loved the stuff I used to get. Early 00's until 2007ish. If I could find some I would actually buy it just to reminisce. Every once in a while we would get a crappy batch, but usually it was pretty good. Back then you could buy a pound of brick for the same price as an ounce of good buds. It was an easy decision. If it was so terrible I probably wouldn't still be a stoner today. I think the brick we had in my time came a long way from the 60s and 70s brick. No clue what it's like these days though.

I'd spring for a $250 QP of my late 80's staple stuff. And the pounds of seeds we disposed of?? Almost brings a tear to the eye now.

I was told by a Mexican gentleman in the trade many years ago that the Coke (the soft drink, not the nose candy) helped the bricks stay squished together while also deterring buds and mold. I don't think they had a lot of science to back those notions up on the one hand, on the other hand, it was one of the main reasons for all the messed up colors-some people thought it was "black mold" or "tire rubber"-because at various points they were stuffed in tires, but no, it was mostly just Coke!

Our bales came with the migrant apple pickers. And same tale told. Only variation was orange or pine apple soda for extra pesos in MI. Those bails never would have made it this far without that input or intent. LOL.

I'd love the chance of a quarter just for the seed, I think it was Afghan we got in Europe I didn't think it tasted to bad though its nothing on a good bit of bud.
Even the seeds have a unique flavour lol, I cringe at the seeds wasted in joints.

My recollections of smoking seeded, mexi brick weed were not very favorable. Got a handful of nickelbags which resulted in a hundred or so seeds almost 20 years ago. Unfortunately I didn't store them the best as I could have, away from light but in the garage subject to seasonal temp swings over 15 years. Last few that I tried recently didn't want to germ. One day it'll happen.

I liked it back in the day. I don't remember it tasting moldy or soaked in anything. Just extremely dry and no cure to it at all. Had the familiar weed smell, but alot of hay/grass smell too. Broke up easily because it was so extremely dry, but filled to the brim with seeds. High was usually on the sativa side, very pleasant and not too muddy of a high. We called it 'regs' where I'm from. Anything that was grown around here without seeds and a decent cure, regardless of the strain or growing method, was called 'dro', short for 'hydro'. Just had the two-tier system back then lol. Regs and dro.

old thread i know, but brick weed is still about, i got offered some a while back. the only good thing about it is growng the seeds from it and growing some killer weed.

Lots of seed and leaves, shake we called it in the baggie. Originally from fields that came back naturally. Chop, hang dry and bundle every year. The smoke was very acrid, like a burning tea bag, and no expansion in your lungs til the mid 70’s Columbian and later sinsemillas. Surely there were good regionals like michoacan, oaxacan and acupulco but generally brick weed was pretty generic.

The headache though!!!! Great times!!!!

What we didn’t have in weed we made up for with pharmaceuticals.
