Looking great Mewk. Looks like your prior experience is paying off and I think you're going to get that 2 easily. Looking at the pix, I forget that I'm looking at a pc grow box plant. Impressive.

Your plants look great, and that shiva skunk seems to enjoy the tight space almost. Makes me happy about the dairy queen seeds I found (and am germinating) because its half space queen which is Jack Herer x Shiva skunk.

During the flowering of your last pc grow did the plant grow up a lot during or did it end up being pretty squat?

@Reku & @Spankey - Cheers lads. The positive vibes are always appreciated!
@Sensi - Thanks man.. Yeh I think I stand a good chance of cracking the 2oz mark. More lights next grow, possibly hempy it... Let's aim for 3! :P
@Kirk - She did stay pretty short on the last grow. She filled her space, but wasn't in anyway stretchy. Though she didn't have half as much room last time, so there wasn't much room for her to grow upwards. I've been surprised on this grow that she hasn't needed more room yet. I keep expecting to see her touching the lights, so I can lower her down a bit. But nothin' so far.
@TheDude - Cheers man :P
@Smokes - I just followed this tutorial mate, it was pretty easy going. I had to substitute a few parts, as some of it wasn't too easily attainable in the UK, but it's hanging in there, and seems to be doing much better this grow than the last. Dunno why that'd be. - https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html

I gave her a feeding of fish-tank water a couple days ago, and she seems to be quite happy with it... So I think Imna continue doing that now, every other watering. I might cut out the chem nutes altogether, and just stick with tap water (left out for 24 hours) and water from the fish tank.

Thanks! I am starting up my own little pc grow and reading through your last journal and this one has really taught me quite a lot. I was originally going to run 4 CFLs but after reading into your suggestions about LEDs it looks pretty promising from the other grows you linked. I still have yet to buy my lights and was probably thinking of buy a 5m 5630 LED (3000-35000k) in my box along with 2 26w 6500k for veg. then switch it to the LED and 2 26w 2700k for flowering. Let me know if you think that it would work effectively. Im just going to be growing one plant

Hey man, I dunno really, it all sounds pretty good. But I have no experience at all with LEDs, so I can't really answer your question there. Also, another thing you might wanna look into first, is the heat that those 5630s give out. I did read a couple reports that they can get quite hot... So I'm not sure if they'd be too much for a PC box. I'm pretty certain the 5050s are cool for a PC box, but then they're not as bright. It's certainly something I'm interested in exploring though. Do let me know if you decide to go the way of the LED strips, I'd love to see a grow diary using them in a PC box.

One plant is definitely the way to go for a pc case tho, I think any more than a single plant and you'd be in trouble.

Okay, what are we... Uh... Day 37 of Flower.

Things aren't really moving much at the moment, I don't see hardly any vertical growth, I'm sure she wasn't this short on the last run. I'm beginning to wonder if having her so close to the lights might be stunting her a little? Any ideas anyone? I could drop her down a bit, in which case I'm guessing she'd stretch, but is that a good thing... Maybe she's still really early days, and is gonna take for--eevv---ee--rr to be ready for harvest.

Any an all feedback welcome an appreciated. Here's todays pics.

Hey Mewk, wazap!! I think lowering your lady about as much as 3-4cm would be nice.. I think she's toooo close to those CFLs, even though you can tell there's a noticable difference from your last update!! I mean, your tops are starting to pop out and gaining height!!

I hope this works for you!!
Cheers!! Niiiice work!!! bongsmilie

I think at this point you don't want stretch. It won't help the yeild. Keep em close and let em pack on the weight. Nobody wants fluffy lanky budzzz

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Yeh, okay, I'm gonna drop her down a little, and see what happens. @Madrush, I hear what you're saying man, but I'm just wondering if they're a little too close and it's stopping her from stretching her legs a little. @Kush, it's not heat man.. I've been paying close attention and looking for any signs of leafburn, but there's nothing, she's reaching high for the light and seemingly loving it. @TheDude & @Spanky, yes lads, gonna drop her for a couple days at least, and just see what happens. There's soooo much room for her to use should she need it, that I don't mind the idea of her stretching out a little... and it could be that she's just holding back from getting too close.

@Alusash, yes mate! Totally need to get a smaller box, this tiny pc case just doesn't offer enough challenge :D Will maybe try a gutted PS2 next time ;)

@Smatz, I've been keeping an eye on your grow dude, looks like it's coming along nicely. With any luck you'll have just as healthy a lass as this one... and @Gunslinger, nice to have you along mate.. The more the merrier!

No pics today, as the phone is dead and I cannae find the charger.

Cheers all,
mewk.

in my opinion, if theres not too much heat then the plant can absorb as much light as you throw at it. i mean, the plant grows naturally in hot weather and full sun, im sure a litte cfl has no comparison to the sun no matter how close it is. i mean yeah they might stretch taller if you drop them down, but the light intensity will be less and will mean less bud production.i try to keep the lights cool and close as possible if not touching the bulbs to get maximum output from the light.
oh, and im thinking about creating a battery powered self re-charging l.e.d. system for a pc box, you might be interested in that one.

That sounds intriguing Kush... Let me know when you've sorted out the plans for it, would be interested to know the costs on somethin like that.

ive been looking into making my own led light, it can be very complicated but it can be done, then there is the power source, it will use rechargeble batteries to drive whats called a newman motor attached to a mini generator that recharges the batteries as it disipates. if you have free time to browse the internet you can find plans for a newman motor nothing to expensive would be involved just to power some led's..i may try to crank up the power a little bit for a timer and a fan but the goal is to be a self sufficient grow box that can be moved anywhere without having to be hooked to the electric grid. i may integrate some solar power as well.
