Jimmy Page is from the UK,Bright-Boy. I wouldn't put him in my top 25 though. He was sloppy as they come live.

Ali Farka Toure deserves to be way up that list and I didn't see Youssou N'Dour one of the great guitarists of the last 3 decades of the 20th Century.

What's up with Dick Dale being at #31? That guy should be ahead of both Richards (another slop artist) and Page. No Dick Dale,no Jimi Hendrix. Both were lefties,Hendrix played a Dick Dale model Strat in honor of his hero, but reversed the strings while Dick played his upside down and still does. Dick is top 5 material.

Where's Carl Perkins while we're at it? Chuck Berry started out in a Rockabilly outfit covering Perkins. He just increased the tempo and and threw in a lil' Hubert Sumlin to get his sound when he went solo.

You say this guy invented the guitar????? I dont fucking think so.....DAMN FACE PALM

Get your facts straight before you correct someone else MORON

The earliest extant six string guitar was built in 1779 by Gaetano Vinaccia (1759 - after 1831) in Naples, Italy. The Vinaccia family of luthiers is known for developing the mandolin. This guitar has been examined and does not show tell-tale signs of modifications from a double-course guitar.
