I'm sorry guys, but I'm still not on board with Adam Jones being a great guitarist. The bass takes the lead the majority of the time and leave the guitar either making ambience or playing some sort of rhythm in the background in TOOL's music. Any Dillinger Escape Plan, or ISIS fans in here? Pelican, Boris, Cult of Luna, Buried Inside. Check some of these bands out TOOL fans. You'll see TOOL is not alone in the realm of well-thought out music and albums, and the love needs to be spread around.

rolling stone list of the top 100 guitarists ever...
Seems to me that the only people who listen to what Rolling Stone has to say are people who don't have their own taste. The fact that they ripped on Exile on Main Street, Zep, Hendrix (and now they call him #1!!!). I have more musical taste in my left nut than their entire staff, past AND present (well, except maybe Dr Gonzo !!)

Clapton was above both Chuck Berry and Robert Johnson ?
David Gilmour is down at 82 ?
Cobain rated higher than Carlos Santana AND Jeff Beck ?
Seriously ?.....
Nuff said about that wannabee rag.

Yeah we kind of established that the Rolling Stones Mag isn't really a good reference, as you mentioned. Their rankings don't really make much sense. The fact that they put Cobain at 12 made it kind of obvious they didn't really know what they were talking about.

Thought of an awesome drummer, while I was listening to his band last night

David Silveria, this guy was pretty underated and unknown. I was jamming to some KoRn last night and thought that he was actually fucking awesome! Don't know if someone already mentioned him.

Will check some of these out man, I have heard of Pelican and Dillinger Escape Plan.

Not sure why Tool became more famous. I relate to them for their lyrics and symbolism more than anything, so my appreciation isn't JUST for Adam Jones. But more for the entire band. As I said, his technical ability isn't anything extreme, but his timing and rythm are incredible. And with Tool's drummer Danny Carey, the time scheme get's fucking complex!

As I said though, I will check these other bands out, especially if they play similar stuff to Tool! Thanks for the heads up!
