Still doesn't mean shit to me LOL. And the new CCT/CRI standards will have some relevance, at least in the way we read company's data sheets but what's going on here is what I'm waiting for.µmol/J is probably the most fair comparison between different lights (for horticultural purposes), there's no conversion needed. And AFAIK the new standard has nothing to do with the horticulture.

"In recent years, LED lighting for horticulture applications, in particular plant-growth research and production in the controlled environment, has dramatically increased. The benefits of using LEDs for energy savings and performance improvement have been quickly recognized by researchers, plant growers, and greenhouse or controlled-environmental-chamber manufacturers, as well as government and energy savings experts. LED horticultural lighting is a fast-growing market, yet there are uncertainties as to how LED lighting products should be measured, compared, and qualified in regard to energy savings, performance, and safety."
I'm just not a believer in the math that goes on not only here, (LER for LED Luminaires???? I thought LER was a voluntary ratings system for CFL and flouro lighting ?), but out there too. And after reading enough and listening to enough people who are inside the LED industry and how they criticize the ways math has been used to interpret lighting, I'm waiting before I become a slave to the math.
I apologize if I'm insulting people's intelligence again. LOL
