LED+CFL Closet Coco grow

I took these with my SLR, even though I don't have a macro lens I did the best I could to try to capture the trichs. Photobucket kills the resolution so I cropped a few of them up close to show more detail but still my camera can't capture the trichs clearly. Anyways...

^^^^loving the pics/ real nice lady you got.............I would NOT add any more ferts by looking at her signs. Listen too maseef and keep using plain water to flush the salts out.

Ah okay, I already flushed the salts out waited a day and then gave her a feeding. You are saying she is looking ready to start the flush? If so I will not add any ferts after this and just let it ride, I thought she didn't look quite ready yet, will buds continue to develop/grow even with plain water?

Also would I be okay cutting a sample to check for potency at this point? I know taste and all will be way off, more concerned with potency check. I have been hesitant to cut off a sample as I feel any sample I cut has the potential to grow much larger.

Personally I would wait another 2 weeks before I cut a sample, your girl looks damn good but she is far off from harvest, I think you are only a little under halfway through the flowering process, you got 5 more weeks a least. You are right when thinking that the sample has a potential to grow much larger, just wait and you will be happy you did. As far as watering is concerned, I would water with plain PH'ed water for the next week, then give her a half dose of nutes, Ph'ed water for 2 weeks after that, then flush, bringing you to the harvesting point in about 5 weeks from now. Just my 2 cents but hey, growing is a constant learning process :) best of luck friend, you will be enjoying some might fine smoke soon enough!

I have conflicting opinions now. I don't want to start a war but I do appreciate all input. If anybody would like to chime in or add on please do so. I know the decision is up to me I just like to see different perspectives.

What I am thinking is since she is drinking water slowly recently, probably because she was burnt and is still recovering, I am going to watch what happens with the nutes I did give her. PPM in was roughly 1000 my tap water I started with is 118. Tested runoff after watering and it was around 980 PPM. She will probably take almost a week to dry out the coco so I will watch the new growth and trichomes and see what I can see.

***edit*** I'm pretty medicated I think I may be reading this wrong....

sounds like your doing just fine. Just let it get back on track and then start feeding her again. flushing isnt necessary at all in coco. unless you have salt build up..

When growing a bag seed, it is going to be tough call. If I am correct, you are on day 45 of flower. Is that right? I normally go from 56-70 days for flowering, depending on the strain. I normally feed only 5.9PH water for the last 10 days or so. You will have to make the call!

I think we are all giving you fairly consistent input. In my prior post, I indicated that my grows go 56-70 days. You are at 45 days (please confirm!). 70-45=25 days, and may be a little longer if Sativa dominate. This is why Slinger36 is saying 5 weeks (35 days). I also think we are all saying to use more PH water than nutes, if I am not mistaken. All that salt may have affected the finsh time, so we recommended watching the Trichs. Folowing Slinger36's advice is sound, and if the Trichs start to turn Amber let us know! You had also asked a while back whether or not the buds would continue to grow, when fed just PH water. From my perspective, the answer is "yes". The plant will not stop growing, just because you start to feed just PH water. Many coco growers alternate feeding between nutes and plain PH water.

Ok sounds good thanks for the clarification. Yes I am 45 days into 12/12; I started 12/12 1 week after seeing female preflowers and cutting clones.

I was doing a Google search on the PermaFrost strain, and found a really interesting grow, that is very similar to yours. He grow a PermaFrost bag seed under 190W CFl. You may need a free account to see the pictures. He harvested at 11 weeks. This supports Slinger36's post. 77-46= 31 days (4 1/2 weeks). The guy posts a fantastic hi-res picture of his Trichs on post #20. He is at 9 1/2 weeks at this point. When your plant gets to look like that picture, you would have another 1 1/2 weeks before harvest. BTW, the picture shows some purple in the Trichs. I have never seen this before, but it made my mouth water! Can someone, confirm my math here! He took the Trich picture by just holding up his Loupe to the camera!!!!!

I saw that post as well when I first started growing this strain, it looks similar to my plant and I believe he is even from Michigan like me, so it could be the same/similar. I saw the purple trichs as well, this made my mouth water... literally. Didn't know the trichs actually filled with purple resin thats crazy! I have tried taking pics through my loupe after seeing that post, I can see how it could maybe work but it is very difficult and I don't know how he got that clear of shots with it.

Wow that is a beautiful plant bro, i wouldn't completely deprive her of nutes but maybe add just a bit to feed those buds. Also, spring water has a much better molecular structure than spring water and has more life giving proprieties and just tastes better.

I am from Michigan as well.

I figure a lot of people on here are as we are a medical state. :-) Also just aheads up Michigan Medical patients if you aren't aware already there is a new law in effect, keep your bud in your trunk while driving or the law does not protect you anymore. Just a little PSA for everyone :-)

But yeah that permafrost thread is amazing, if you look at the bud in my OP that this seed came from it was a very purple strain so idk. Those guy's photos made me drool though. I can only wish for those results. That is the only real permafrost grow I could find though.

So i did some half-assed LST after I gave the clones their first full dose of nutrients yesterday. I did it on 4 of them and like the results, I might do this on all of them, pretty good for only being tied down 1 day eh?

Yeah I didn't feel like watering when I was sick hence why my clones are so small. This is actually their first watering/feeding since I transplanted them to the smart pots originally. The coco finally dried out while I was sick and I let them sit for about a week, must still be wet in the root zone because even though they didn't grow much they still lived, when I saw they started to consume the nutes in the bottom leaves I was like damn it, gotta feed these babies.

Also, I'm thinking of getting rid of a few of the clones, you can tell by the pictures that some of them are obviously stronger than others. I was thinking of keeping maybe 4 or 5, seeing as I am planning on flowering in the tent, if time plays out right I would like to LST the strongest ones now keep 4 or 5 then SCROG them in the tent. bought myself some time by starting LST now, I just don't know I could/should fit all 8 of these in a scrog in the tent? Also am I thinking about this right? I can LST them then grow the multiple tops through a screen and scrog that way? Would this be a good approach?\

ALSO almost forgot:
Spotted about 2 amber trichomes today while looking through the loupe, most milky, a lot clear but I could only find 2 amber trichs after searching 4 or 5 buds.

Diggin the beginnings of some LST dude, just remember to plan ahead on how they are gonna be set into the tent, once you get that screen up for the SCROG you are not going to be able to move the pots around, so pre-planning is everything! They also look like they could be topped now, topping them is gonna dramatically increase the growth of those lower branches so that is something to consider. LST is fun but it can be trying at times, especially with transplanting. Again thinking ahead is key, looking forward to your second grow even though this one isnt done yet haha. As far as the amber is concerned, if you could only find a couple that were slightly amber its another sign that you have a ways to go, those long pistols will also start to recede as you plant gets closer to harvest so that is another thing to keep an eye out for. My crystal ball predicts some fat nugs in your futurebongsmilie.
