Bet there are a few (hundred) long time X- felons that have been marginalized by the recent first round of mini-tweaks to michigans mmj laws. What about them? I also wonder if all Caregivers can be next? seen it in other states, along w/ complete/total/ regulation... not my idea of an ideal future in a compassion 'industry'.
I hear ya. Totally pissses me off too.

I fought and fought this felon crap.

I figured out the numbers and it is as many as 1000 current caregivers could be effected(or already have been I should say). No real number on it yet, but I did some statistical figgerin out and somewhere between 750-1100 would be the zone.

We couldn't even get a family waiver.

It's almost a losing cause against this current government. It is a miracle we even still have a law. Good thing it is 75%. The would have repealed it wholly if it was 51%.

I think so. Trite as it is to say, it is not a zero sum game. The alternatives to the final resolution of the bills were far and away more restrictive and intrusive.
You are certainly intitled to your opinion. But, you are explaining to a rape victim that 'hey,it coulda been more brutal'.

A possible reason you are not seeing boots one the ground may be that ground is 'salted' so why bother trying to grow anything there?

Some of us are trying other methods. Telling our friends and family the truth about what we do.
Looking for candidates to run against the people who voted against the voters wishes.

All good ideas, here is another one.

Serve on juries. Don't get tossed because you overtly approve of cannabis. Keep your opinions to yourself until you are in the jury room.

I think that is more than a little hyperbolic, but the point is taken. Why do you say the ground is poisoned?

By all means, continue what your are doing and you have my thanks.

You should run for office homeless. You'd have the vote of every pot smoker in the state ..... and there are a lot of us!

I like hyperbole. It gets the point acrossed.

I worked with terminal cancer patients. Most with large rural families. They have seen first hand our state reps ignore them and their vote. They hav seen first hand how LEo plays the game. They have destroyed our wells and salted the ground.

Tell us please, Buck, what you would have done to change the outcomes that you complain of.

the dialectic continues and advances no matter what we do-:wall:
i would have liked to see 10,000 people on the steps to get some attention to the nonsense

my guess is a lot of what has been done is to keep momentum or any unity like we saw in the 70's happen here
michigan was one of the number one activist spot in the 70's
this is what my forensics tells me-

at this point i would like to see working patient groups form in every county for the purpose of defending supporting and networking
and not the 'neutered' CC that dont seem to do a thing but i understand their merit for those members

court monitoring at every level in every county by real time working patients groups would be a refreshing site to combat and neuter and nullify all these 'plea' deals we are seeing the lawyers herding the pts into for the lawyers($) benefit-

i am currently trying to rally wheelchairbound and terminal patients to form a working group of real and obvious high visibility actual patients to roundtable and create some unity ....solutions and private networking to circumvent all the dispensaries agenda

i do my best work getting behind real patients and their cause than i do supporting lawyers and dispensary robbers
or secret 'stakeholder' dues paying member groups--heh

how many wheelchairbound or terminal pts do you know that can afford to purchase medicine[sic] from the dispensary folks who seek to rob us of what little rights we have left--?
and then sell them back to us....!!??!! wtf!:spew:

or for that matter how many can afford to pay a cg for the same medicine...???

the shit is free if you grow it and should be available ""free"" to all that need it-
there friends can 'buy' it if they like to burn after they get a taste of good medicine patients could enjoy for free...

my friends son is right now as we speak in his wheelchair 'rolling' to the whitehouse in hopes of raising awareness to the plight of many sick and low income patients.....""cannabis roll""

he has cerebal palsy and has an electric wheelchair he is riding to the whitehouse steps by the 4th of july
he plans to roll on lansing when he returns.....we have discussed acouple hundred wheelchirs rolling up there to the steps-

how much you think they will fuck with a group of wheelchairs....?
there are retired vetrans/police folk wheelchirbound willing to roll too-

publicity stunts and public awareness to how they have fucked us with the non-law protections will be my agenda for the rest of the year and somthing to watch for-

plus one man and an ipad can affect the whole field
---one field affects the whole field
imagine 1000 people with ipads all networking and raising the vibration.....!!

imagine how that would affect the collective field of conciousness here-

i also believe in what rep irwin is doing for the decrim thing....i think that is the best approach to keep it for us-

after all the path to legalization is what they need to bring the corporate online and end whats left of mmj as we know it--canada

i am not for legalization as a whole as they need >>us to make it happen with our votes...

yes the only way the corporations will gain access to the markets is they need >>us to vote for legalization so that can mandate a regulated controlled industry--

hence the ""dialectic"" they have created

thesis antithesis synthesis

its backward by design and they have orchestrated it very well to line up the ducks in a row-:joint::peace:

I don't think he is saying anything could have been done.

Seems as if he is just saying that all that stuff sucks in general and I could agree. :-)

That is what we fight against and to fix.

I would again disagree with a few of the points made. Such as follow up visits required, that all felons can't be caregivers, the pt/pt transfers being a result of McQueen(the law was not written originally to allow it) and a few other minor points. <edit> Just had to add that "indigents" still get the discount.

To me it just shows the position of a disgruntled patient and all the crapola that ticks em off.

And trust me,... I get it. It pissses me off too. That is I why I fight to make it better.

I can agree that in general terms, I hate lawyers. Heh. Any of us who have been through the court system and have paid them a new car knows how messed up the legal system is. It sux0r.

All I can do is take what ya said there bucky and try to help fix it or make it better. I need this kind of feedback to help guide me. :-)

this is the gospel according to malamute!

i am a witness and he is spot on:clap:

glad u sensed no personal attack-
u may be buddhist and dont even know it:-P

keep the dialogue fresh open and democratic if you want REAL feedback to guide your efforts
there are many of us that have input and would be glad for some ""civil"" discourse

i sense your disillusions by your efforts also in many of your postslately and can feel you thru the screen

mayb its time to open up some public(open) roundtables in every county.....?
for discussion and feedback-:?:

the job of litigation is to litigate and only trained articulate professionals should be in that arena...
where are our 'gladiators???

mishpocha \mish-PAW-khuh, -POOKH-uh\, noun:

an entire family network comprising relatives by blood and marriage and sometimes including close friends; clan.

Levinsky told him he didn't need a lawyer. "Dealing with us is like mishpocha. Who needs a lawyer to talk to mishpocha." Simon learned later they had cheated him, but who cares, who would have cared?
-- Arthur A. Cohen, In the Days of Simon Stern, 1973
“You can speak now. We're all mishpocha here and we got no secrets.”
-- Leon Uris, Exodus, 1958
Mishpocha entered English in the mid-1800s and comes from the Yiddish and Hebrew words for "family" or "clan."

another situation diffused by the good soul called 'abe' who always tries to keep peace and unity in the front of the discussion and reminds us frequently we really are one big dysfunctional phamily of brothers and sisters all after the same thing---well most of us

i think you were a tunnel-rat in vietnam abe the way you navigate oh so carefully thru all the bombs and semantical rhetoric!

my yiddish is slight but i think an 'oh vey' could be in order-

yes all well and good but what if LARA outsources to a private co?

we will be subject to no protections that any private company is mandated to uphold....

they can circumvent around the language of the law to gain access to the registry like i fear they are allready doing-

same thing the federal govt does by using private companies to spy on us....
i have always thought that is why they took it from HHS and gave it over to a regulatory agency

soon to be outsourced...???

The sad part is that activism has all but stopped. No patient groups testified at the last Judiciary Hearings regarding distribution. There is not the necessary oversight to see that LARA not make the administrative rules onerous, and the Governor is taking advantage of that to run his agenda. Pending the outcome of the TerBeek case in the SC, it may be necessary to address ordinances. The MMMA is not inclined to pick up that kind of activism again, for whatever reason. The conversation is evolving, and we don't have the boots on the ground necessary to keep up.

How do I give a rep?
++rep!
and heres a phattie for you:joint: for keeping it cool as a cucumber and easy like sunday morning-

you big 800lb monkey:-P

you are a big shitbag too i have noticed after a year and half of reading your posts--

some of which i have liked and can appreciate your insight and enthusiasm:clap:

++rep for you Dr Bob!:clap:

sometimes you just man up and show us a real Dr who can actually help with some good input..
..try some medicine....its good for you and may help you to understand our side of the equation more

yes jury duty and nullification is a very powerful tool and we should be teaching this at every CC and throughout the state
bravo Doc!

the 'fertile' ground and window to cultivate it is now gone.....

and the 'soil' we have left to cultivate nurture and grow our law is now full of briars chaff and shwagg and now harder for us to cultivate to our benefit

peace:peace:and respect!

I am starting the project to track the Ter Beek case as it moves through the SC and get back to following municipal ordinances and moratoria. Several other people have an abiding interest in it too. No telling which way it will go, but forewarned is forearmed.
