Notice the overall wattage of the scenarios

Wattage need to reach 50,000 lumens
1 400w Hps
Total watts 400 = 125 lumens/w
10 54w 4ft t5
Total watts 540 = 92 L/w
4.5 150w eco plus
Total watts 675 = 74 L/w
42 40w t12
Total watts 1680 = 29 = L/w
Well I hate to burst your bubble but you know Lumens really don't give you the best reading? It's basically a shit number...it's about PAR

I understand that. Lumens however is much more accurate then wattage. Getting people to understand that has been hard enough, never mind getting into PAR and other measurements like CCT, CRI and Kelvin temp. So don't worry about bursting any of my bubbles. I got plenty of air pumps to make more. All that stuff Considered is why I run Eye Hortilux HPS bulbs.

Consider this thread officially HIGHjacked

And PAR is better readings then lumens...that's what I'm trying to say...why even try and explain lumens, when it's pretty pointless? You shouldn't try to get people to understand lumens....light meters are decently cheap and give you the best readings of the lights your using...so why even talk lumens?

i dont know what par is u guys got me there...
The actual read of your light...let's say you have a light meter...you would take a reading at all points of your plant...top cola...side shoots, in the middle...it shows you Har far your "throw" is

One smart ass after another here apparently.
Don't tell me what I should try to get people to understand, that's for me to decide. At the time I was attempting to get people to understand that hps lights are more efficient and produce less heat watt for watt then cfls (a basic facts of lighting)I find lumens more effective when comparing the productivity of different types of lighting. while PAR and other spectrum measurements are better for deciding between different bulbs of same type and wattage. Just how I do things. I would be able to actually help more people here if I didn't constantly have to defend myself and explain simple concepts to people that claim I'm wrong and claim I'm delivering misinformation.

i have 8 plants all together im hoping to get "about a pound" lmao
I'd guess you to hit that mark of an elbow -possibly better. She looks good and you still have the most crucial last 2-3 wks or so to catch that "bud swell". Gauged solely from the pics you provided and if the other 7 are on par with the one pictured.
The average grower should be able to get .5 grams per watt. 1g+ per watt if you got your shit together for real.

Careful you don't misuse the word PAR in this thread/forum. There are piranhas in this pond waiting to rip you apart. Haha. Swim at your own risk.

thanks ...yea i got a 1000w hps... two of my other plants are bigger then buzz light gear (only 2 weeks thru flower tho ) but i spent 4 weeks in veg ,topping a bunch and growing them out ... i for sure think they will pull 4 a peice..... im just guestimating and going with that .5 or lower average since im running 1000W hps and 240w of cfl..... will see alot can happen in a month ... i know im approaching week six now and they are getting alot frostier... im gonna start flushing atomic bomb i think for 2 weeks
