I'm back and the girls are doing great. These pics are from last night. lot more bud growth in the past few days. I adjusted some tie downs to make them a little tighter for when I put them into the same box.

Dang I'm jealous my Christmas tree is only showing 50% white hairs, you though have nice buds. How do they smell (Indian Haze) bet they smell dank. This ones will sound weird but one day I stroked the main stem and sniffed my finger to see if it had a smell, it smelled like citrus fruit how about yours?

Over all nice looking plants

Actually not much smell yet. I'm not even using a carbon filter. The BrazilxKC has a more cannabis plant smell but not a super darkness to it yet. I'm guessing once the buds really stack to bulk up is when I'll see a difference.

I spoke too soon. There was a definite vegetative smell in my house today. Guess I'll be needing those filters soon than later.

I'm a little nervous about Marsha's height. She only has a few inches between her and the lights. I'll probably have to tighten her tie downs again and stretch her out so I will probably not put Ashley in with her.

It's sad and true. Marsha turned hermie. I was adjusting her tie downs when I noticed there were some swollen calyxes on her lower buds. So I started searching and came across a small branch with a few bananas and one was opened. I had a bad feeling when I saw a red hair in one of the pics above. So I removed the branch and kept looking. I eventually found another one just starting to throw out male flowers so I cut that one too. I moved her box into my bedroom to reduce the chances of pollinating Ashley but it may already be too late. If Marsha continues to grow bananas I'll probably just end up chopping her. She still has at least 4 weeks to go and I don't know if I can be vigilant enough to catch everything. Should I remove all the lower buds to better my chances of spotting anything? It is extremely dense around the trunk and bananas could easily hide in there.

That's a hard call jebus. Chances are good though that she may cause more problems. And I hate to say this but the last plant that went hermie may have left the pollen that is causing this meaning that there is still pollen lingering. I would do one of two, 1 don't start anything and let everything finish and harvest and just have seedy bud then deep clean everything to remove the risk of any more pollen, or 2 cut and harvest everything now then deep clean everything and start a new. Hate to hear of the misfortune man.

I trimmed all the lower growth and basically lollipopped the branches. I found another male pollen sac and removed it. Then I sprayed around it with water to try and contain the pollen. I removed a lot of growth and there are still a lot of buds with seeds in them. Chances are some got into Ashley so she will probably have a few seeds too. I just started a royal kush. It's in day 2 of veg. I'm hopefully going to have the other girls harvested by the time I flower her. I'm going to chop Marsha if she gives me any more problems. Just not worth it to risk seeding Ashley and the new girl.

She threw out about 6 more bananas and Ashley has 4 seeds on her so I went ahead and chopped Marsha. She had a lot of seeds and hopefully Ashley won't develop any more of her own.

sorry to hear it man. even with the week old seedling, you may still be able to harvest everything, remove her, and deep clean. i know it isnt a great option, but i hate to see you continue to fight this battle with the "ghost pollen" lingering somewhere, IMO at least. good luck buddy

Yeah, I think I will end up with about a dozen seeds from Ashley. I see about 6 that are forming and there are about as many red hairs on the random bud. She may get worse though. Marsha may have thrown out a lot of pollen that is circulating through my house as we speak. I'm not worried about the seedling. I assume all the pollen will not be a problem in about a month when I flower her.

Here are some pics:

pics 1-3: Royal Kush seedling at the start of day 6. She hasn't changed much since day 2 or 3. I moved the UFO away so it is about 1.5' above her, and the 26w cfl's are about 1' above her. I don't know if that is what is causing her to become stunted or not, but after about 10 hours she has shown a tiny bit of growth.

pics 4-8: Ashley at day 22 of flower. The last two pics are of seeds developing. She started making resin glands a little over a week ago. Her aroma is delicious. It is a mixture of over and under-ripe peaches. I also switched out some of the lights from the other box. So now Ashley is under three 40w 2700k cfl's and one 23w 6500k cfl. The box temp is hanging around 80-82 up at the canopy and 78 down by the soil.

Looks good aside from pollen and hermies. Did you have any problems getting the royal kush to germ/sprout? What method did you use on it?

And I think pollen may be able to hang around several months, but don't quote me on that.

I just filled a small pot a little over halfway with soil and perlite. I moistened the soil and put the seed in about an inch under the surface. I think it was pointed side down. It took 3 or 4 days to break the surface and by day two it had the first set of serrated leaves. Since then she hasn't really grown too much, but there has been a little activity since I raised the lights. I think I'll see a difference by the time the lights come on tomorrow.

Transplanted the Royal Kush into a 3 gal smart pot the other day. She just wasn't growing and I couldn't figure it out so I decided to go ahead and transplant her to see if that did it. She had root or two coming out the bottom of the pot and when I tried to remove her from the pot I had some trouble and the soil crumbled some in my hands. I kept it relatively together and got her in the smart pot. It's been two days and there has been a slight improvement. The new leaves are growing but still slow. I think that is more due to the transplanting than anything though. In a few hours she will be waking up for her third day in the smart pot and day 11 of her life. Oh, almost forgot. My cat bit off half of one of the new leaves also.

Ashley is doing great. My new estimate on seeds is now around 25. There seem to be one or two in almost every bud. One of the smaller buds has a lot of red hairs also but none of the calyxes are swollen with seeds so I am not too sure of what is going on there. There is a larger bud, one of the main colas, that has swollen calyxes like it is seeded but it's hairs are pure white. The buds are just starting to stretch and fill out too. I think she will end up with giant buds. The reviews and seed banks have all different flowering times. They range from 56-84 days and when she wakes up in a few hours she will be starting day 27. She has also started turning purple. I am not sure if that is just a natural part of its genetics or if it is due to cool nights. It's been getting down to the upper 60's in the room during lights out.

Will those seeds in Ashley speed up her flowering time or have any effect that I need to be aware about?

I am not sure about the seeds speeding up flower. I always read they make the plant devote energy to seeds instead of trich and thc production, but not sure of finishing faster. Sounds like she has topped out at the 25 seeds, so that is good. I'd keep 'em and call 'em a cross between her and the last plant that hermied. But make sure you watch 'em because they may be genetically more likely to hermie

Here are pics from days 26 and 27 of flowering. Got some notes of purple on some of th sugar leaf and some of the calyxes are swelling. Her smell is much more musky with a sort of over ripe/rotting fruit smell, and the carbon filter is doing a fine job taking care of it.

Every day there are more yellow leaves down low. I am hoping it is just the genetics and not a nute lockout or something. It's effecting the lower leaves. It starts to pale around the veins and ribs and moves outwards. After a few days only the serrated tips are green and then they turn completely yellow and fall off. I've been feeding her about every 2 or 3 waterings and she seems completely healthy other than these lower leaves.

Does this sound like some sort of deficiency?

Should I do a flush and then feed the next watering? I have an organic flushing agent and have never flushed her.

Any other ideas?

I say an N def because the leaves are at the bottom. feed her a veg nute mix and watch her from there
