Jebus' Indian Haze and Brazil x KC grow journal

I've been giving her N but maybe not enough. She gets about the same amount of N as P and its a strong dose. I'll give her a touch more this next feeding and see how she does. She hasn't experienced any significant nute burn, just a little touch one feeding a while ago. So stepping up her dose should be okay.

I'm thinking about pulling up the royal kush and starting another. I'll give her a few more days in case she turns around. With the rough start and the bad transplant I don't know if she ever reach her potential.

Ashley's buds are looking great. They have a nice frosty white color and her sugar leaves are turning purple, especially on the smaller buds. Some of the calyxes are even turning a pinkish color. I fed her a strong dose of nutes and she got a little bit of a burn but it's not too bad. According to the reviews the soonest she should be ready is in another 24 days so I think I'll end up with a decent yield off of her. I had to switch around her lights again to deal with some heat issues. It was getting into the mid to high 80's. Her aroma seems to change from day to day. Now she has a fruity bubblegum smell.

Pics:
This branch bounces around a lit when I move her and you can see it was at a tilt from the way the top is growing. I supported it with a stake in case it got too heavy.

She has started to rebound so I'm am going to keep her and see how she does. Do I need to worry about mold or anything on the bottom of the smart pot? Should I have air flow under the pot? I can put her on an elevated rack or something.

New pics. In the macro shot you can see that the purple is actually going up into the trichome stalks. I'd say the glands are about 60% cloudy, 38% clear, and 2% amber. She still has a way to go however from looking at the shape and size of the buds.

The royal kush is doing well. She is on her third set of leaves. No stretching right now. She is growing very squat which seems to be the norm for a cfl and led light combo. At least this is how it has always gone for me when using them. There has been some curling on the leaves also. I don't think this is heat stress because it hasn't gotten above 82. Maybe the soil was too rich to start her in. I just used miracle grow organic choice.

Man them buds are looking tasty! I know when I was having low pH issues, my leaves curled down. They were real bad though, much worse than what I see in your pics. Don't you use the culligans water from walmart?

Yeah, they have those machines that you can refill bottles at. With the indian haze I had drooping at the tips of the leaves but nothing on the KCxBrazil. The royal kush leaves are twisting like she is having nute shock. I can't believe how frosty Ashley is getting. The crystals keep getting denser and denser. I can't wait until she starts packing on the weight.

So how do those machines work for refills? Do you just walk in with the bottle and go to the back and fill up, then check out? That's what confuses me, and nobody seems to know there!

Yeah, just go and fill them up. Then when you check out you just tell them how many gallons you are getting in whatever sizes you have. I have a 5 gallon jug and four 3 gallon jugs. Costs about $7. Same price per gallon for all the different sizes. They just want to know what size people are using.

Ashley is starting to get stinky. The carbon filter is still helping but the smell fills the whole room now. I might need to replace the carbon. I think it's about 6 months old anyways. Over the past few days her buds have started to swell, especially the main cola. It's not as big as some that I see others grow but it is the fattest cola I have ever grown. Plus she still has a few weeks left. Checking on her today her older hairs are turning brown/red but she is still throwing out new ones. She is also starting to turn pink and red on some of the leaves.

The royal kush is growing normal leaves now. I think I had too much light on her as a seedling and it screwed her up for a while. I was hoping to start flowering her before Halloween so that I could harvest her by x-mas in case I have to move, but I don't know if she will be as big as I was hoping. Just have to wait and see. I also cut up a plastic tomato cage and put a piece of it in the soil. So now I have a ring going around the smart pot that I can use to tie down the branches when I start to LST her.

These pics are from yesterday which was day 35 of flower for Ashley and day 20 of veg for the RK.

looks good jebus! i think if you start the royal kush on halloween you should be good to finish by year end. plant will be a touch smaller, but you may be able to use your coolest, larger space with all your light. may help the yield. just some thoughts.

I went ahead and topped the royal kush this morning. There should end up being 4-6 branches depending on whether or not new branches grow out of the nodes with the single-bladed leaves.

New pics from yesterday. Ashley is getting super frosty and more purple keeps showing up. I've been trying to get it cooler during the nights to really bring it out, but it never gets too low. The coolest it has been in the room is 66. With the lights on it tends to be right around 78-82. Although I left the heat on all day and it got up to 84 the other day. Her odor actually reduced because of that one day. Now she is not as pungent which is both good and bad. She is growing long thin foxtails on the buds. They seem to fill in eventually but it is definitely not dense bud. We'll see how it looks after a few more weeks. The smaller buds are still tiny. It looked like they were going to get big but never did. They just haven't started swelling yet.

The RK is starting to show some growth in the nodes. Hopefully they will take off soon and she will get some size to her. At the rate she is going I may just stick her into the box after I harvest Ashley. I'm pretty sure it will have to be at least 2 or 3 weeks before I can even think of flowering the RK which should coincide perfectly.

Tomorrow will be the start of week 7. Earliest projected harvest date is two weeks from now which seems like it may be right. I just don't know if I should go ahead and start flushing or not. Maybe I will do one more feeding and then flush. You can see in some pics the type of growth I was talking about. These buds seem to grow in bracts instead of dense buds. So I may end up with a lower yield. It'll just depend on how much they fatten up. I think this type of growth is more a sativa trait than indica which makes sense. It is after all sativa dominant. I also put in two macro shots. Seems like the trichomes are mostly cloudy with some clear, and you can see the purple in the trichome stems again :) I would have put up more but they were mostly blurry. I need to find my tripod for those shots. In the very last photo is a shot of the underside of a sugar leaf. It's completely covered in trichomes.

looks good jebus!! go ahead and start the flush, they dont need anymore food. if anything add molasses for supplements, but she will be good without food for the rest of time.

I decided to hold off on the flush. I went back and read the review again and it said for indoor anywhere from 9-12 weeks and she is about halfway through week 7. She looks incredible too. All the buds are turning purple and she is starting to get more of a skunky smell. I think I will shoot for about 10 weeks total, but it really just comes down to the trichomes and what they say.

I noticed some strange discoloration on the BxKC and from talking on other threads it sounds like I probably am having a nute lockout due to a low pH. The coloring makes me think I have a micronutrient deficiency like Ca or Mg, but I will need to research it to make sure. So I will flush and get a pH meter to see where I stand. She is turning purple all over, but it is mainly the leaves and not so much the calyxes. Although there are some that are turning purple. The RK is looking rough too. Small and a strange yellow color on the new growth with wrinkling on the underside of the yellow. I may need to flush her too if my water is too low a pH. I also need to start worrying about temps being too cold. My house is really getting down there and I'm worried the roots may get too cold and stunt growth.

These pics are from today. It's day 64 of flower and she is looking great. New fat growth and the buds are all expanding now. I figure I'll chop her sometime during week 11. I may go longer. Still no amber trichomes so we will see. I started her flush the other day. I ran three gallons of distilled water through the soil. It was running clear after the 2nd gallon.

Should I continue to give her sucunat during the flush? I don't have any molasses. I saw black strap molasses at walmart, but it wasn't organic so I didn't get it.

she does look reall nice jebus. 2 more weeks huh, she should bulk up well. dont know what the sucunat is myself, but the grandma's molasses is good stuff at walmart.

Can you continue using it after you start flushing?

I'm starting to think that it may not be another week and a half. She looks a lot more finished in the pics than in person.
