Issue with furnace, possible hazard. I need quick help

I haven't turned my furnace on this year yet.. Today I noticed a hole in my possibly chimney stack or whatever it is down in my basement. Basically the draft hood air flows into this thing that has a hole in it. What is it??

Also right before the draft hood flows into there is a T split exhaust and one part goes into my hot water heater and the other part flows into the stack with the hole in it.

The second pic's exhaust splits into the hot hater heater right before it goes into the stack on pic 3. Pic 3 is the other side of the stack that has the hole... Can I just put a paste over pic 3 to cover the hole?? The hole may have been there before i don't remember. I have carbon monoxide detectors in my house and they never went off.

Not sure what I’m looking at in the last pic. Looks like someone tried to plug off a hole? Looks like caulking? Where exactly is that?

That’s type B vent pipe. Where your hot water goes in. Doesn’t look sealed? Hard to say. Easy to replace the T section if your handy.

That is your draft pipe if your air pressures not correct going thru that pipe you smart valve should blink to indicate draft induction failure either you need to replace pipe for proper exhaust and make sure your vacuum switches are sucking and releasing properly to indicate removal of all co

Remember it’s type B vent pipe. Made for chimney vent so patch has to match thickness. I’m not sure on rules. Myself I’d just replace.

I never seen one like that, yeah get a licensed plumber any leaks could be C02 ..or if you have your own C02 detector?
