Is my Ripley's OG a photo?

7 days now hanging in between 50 and 60 F and RH. There's a slight crispiness to the buds but still a good bit of a spongey feel. I will probably jar the buds tomorrow. They hay smell seems to have subsided also allowing the peppery skunk smell to reemerge.7 Days.jpg
 
125 grams, or 4.4 oz dry and it has a strong skunky smell. When my wife got home she was convinced one of the cats did his buisness in a shoe or something...but alas it was this wonderfully dank Ripleys OG she was smelling. I'm a novice grower (7th grow) and this is the first time my cannabis doesn't smell like hay going into the jar. It's also the first time my dry lasted longer than 3-4 days. Going 7 days made all the difference. I found the drying rack dried everything too quickly and leaving buds on branches meant having more mass so everything dried slower. Hanging them seemed to work better (for me) than the rack did. I also have blown heat in the house so RH is always low so I built a growing/drying room in the garage. Temp was around 55-60 F and RH was around 60. Just the 4" cent' fan for circulation. Very sticky and tasty. I can't imagine how it will be after a good cure. :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

Nice budz i grew a ripleys awhile back pulled 6.4 ounces. I dry mine in a cardboard printer paper box for 7 days or when hay smell goes then jar.

Thanks! nice plant there too! 7 days seems to be the magic number for drying. Higher I'm sure with higher bulk densities. 6.4 oz is pretty incedible. I can't wait til she has a few weeks in the jar.

I grew 3 Fastbuds Gorilla Glue Auto seeds recently and I made canna-chocolate from a lot of it and gave it to friends. Invariably anyone who ate a piece larger than two squares felt ike they were having a panic attack..it was that powerful! As a smoke it was powerful too but had no taste due to drying it too quickly. No fault of the plant obviously..just my inexperience. All things considered though...I'll grow it again.
 
I got it from a fellow grower and it was like i was eating fruity pebbles. The taste stuck for hours also. I loved it. Don't give up on one of it tastes bad at first. Jar it longer and if it's too dry put a humidity pack with it. I had some i dried to quick and it was rough. But jar it for a few days and it was fire

After reading and looking at the pics of your Ripley it's obvious that we seem to have gotten hold of some of the same seed stock. I have two examples of the Ripleys in my current grow- I started them in a couple of DWC buckets assuming they were autos. After almost 2 months of 20/4 light cycle it dawned on me that these must be photos. Moved them upstairs to my main grow and they are bulking up. One is identical to the pics but the other is taking longer to initiate flower-she's finally throwing pistals.

same here,assuming they were autos the packs they came in said AUTO,s i just put mine on 12/12 ,4 days ago they were on 17/7 be for,i,ll put some pic,s up in few days,i don,t have clue what they are now ,just seeing now they are gurl,s thankful for that,they were in veg for 14 weeks
 
So I wrote a note to Mephisto..partially to complain that one of my Ripleys OG beans didn't pop and one was a photo. I also mentioned that my Heisenberg was a runt and yielded 1/4 oz...although it was amazing. Anyway...in hindesight the problems were nothing to do with Mephisto and everything to do with my inexperience at handling fragile auto seedlings. They politely sent me their growing guide which I have read thoroughly and plan to follow on my next grow. During my char with Mephisto they invited me to order directly from the site. I di and ordered three (3) Alien V Triangle F2 seeds. They arrrived about a month ago and have been in a drawer all that time. So..last night I opened the packet the seeds came in and I got quite a surprise. i was expecting my 3 seeds but what I found was a total of five (5) Alien V Triangle F2 and seven (7) Ripleys OG beans!!!

Hats off to Mephisto for great customer service and attention to detail. Oh...and by the way...now that the Ripleys from this previous grow has had 3 weeks in the jar it is among the finest herb I have ever consumed...auto or otherwise!

So, did Mephisto ever say if the Ripley is supposed to be an auto????

I'm not sure really. I'm wondering if the excessive handling that stressed the others also stressed the Ripleys and caused it to not flower in 24/0....but I don't know enough to know enough. I have also read that once in a while it just happens. I read in another forum where someone else had the same occurance with their Ripleys OG, and they bought them around the same time I got mine. Mine took about 4 months from seed but it is superb. It's almost emerald green when I grind it and has a peppery skunk smell that fills the room. Lung burning hits. One hiit and I want to mow the grass or go for a hike. two hits and I'm binging on Steely Dan or The Simpsons. I don't know the stats for sure but 40 years of toking puts this as among the strongest I have smoked. Three hits and I sleep for 8 hours straight. :eyesmoke::weed:
 
Thanks. I'm also leaning toward mis-packaging of the seeds. I suspect that a random strain(although all of my seeds have been females) got mixed into the batch-just the luck of the draw that both of us got photos. upload_2018-3-24_22-33-49.png
This is one of the ripleys(?) last week. I'll say that this pheno is looking very promising but the other pheno is acting like its 'tweaked out' sister and is just starting to really flower...we'll see how she does.
