Start a thread about your plant and ask people. That's what I did anyway..Ok have a question. My ripleys is yellowing only fans rest of the plant looks great. Should i feed more nitrogen? I upped its dose from a 1/4 to half strength but no change.
It's normal after stretch. N depletion.Sorry just knew you had some yellowing. Figured it would be better to hear from you.
Some yellowing is normal after stretch so I give grow nutes right until stretch is over.Yeah i just remembered you said you were giving more nitrogen to stop it. Did it help yours?
You're not too sure how electronics work are you?First off all led cree are all made in china. The ones that go to name brand seller are actually tested before being assembled or sold. Second the rating you get on a led is lower than the actual wattage draw because a light emiting diode is 80% more efficient at converting electric to light. Now heres the real kicker the same way they test light output on hps mh or even your common house bulb is the same way led is tested. Two of my lights are marshall led. One which is rated at 500 and draws 85watts. Other is rated at 1500 and draws around 485watts. The other two are cob one is a 20inch autofeel rated at 980 watts. Then a 44inch cob light rated at 2000 watts. I dont know exactly how much it all actually puts out. All i know for sure is that it's so bright it will give you a headache. But I'm not arguing with someone who obviously doesn't know a thing about led
Cree is a brand...A cree light is not a cree light. There are many different cree lights and just because it says cree doesn't mean its good for growing. I wonder about the spectrum on those truck lights. I also wonder about the reflectors. It focuses the light fairly tight.
If you read the fine print they market as 1500 watts equivalent. Generally they "rate" them that value by taking a reading of lumens or lux at a certain distance from the lamp and the number of "watts" they give you as a value is what it would take in incandescent lamps to make the same amount of foot candle as the led. Notice that CFL do this as well. I'm a lighting designer by trade and etcp entertainment electrician certified. They've been doing this as industry standard for many many years.Take that mars for example. Its not 1500 actual watts. Most led companies especially the cheap ones don't put the actual draw on them. They pull a number out of the air.
I'm all about budget growing. I started with a $80 cab, $100 fan filter combo and $100 4ft 8 bulb t5. I prefer mixed or full spectrum including uv and will be adding a couple t5 back in with the cobs.
No shit. But not all cree are the same. That's the point. I have a flashlight with a cree cob. Doesn't mean its good for growing.Cree is a brand...

Hey buddy preaching to the choir here. Not taking a side on whether their marketing wank is justified. Just shedding some light on the thin air from which they yank those numbers. Well dark tunnel more likely... As far as the not all cree are the same you're absolutely 100% correct. One must look at the individual part numbers specs for appropriate color temps, cri etc. Then you have to look into how they're binned. Although arguably that's less important unless your concerned with parts longevity and the likelihood of their being tiny little diodes out on a cob led.No shit. But not all cree are the same. The numbers they put in those cheap lights are hogwash. I doubt the equivalent to incandescent is accurate on some. Even if its right it doesn't mean anything. Its just a measure for the human eyes and they need to stop. Its one thing to do with a cfl or other general lighting b7on but not grow lights.
That looks great, those yellowing leaves are not a problem, just pull them off, usually thats done by the plant to move mobile nutrients from places in the plant that will no longer use it to places where it needs it such as buds. It also should help clear some air ways as well. Happy growing.
Thanks! This is my 6th grow so I'm still learning, but each one seems to be better than the last. That looks great, those yellowing leaves are not a problem, just pull them off, usually thats done by the plant to move mobile nutrients from places in the plant that will no longer use it to places where it needs it such as buds.
