Is 67/68 degrees too cold?

Not really sure that's a particularly efficient solution, though. I used to keep reptiles and used several of those under-tank heating pads. Yeah, they throw some heat, and as heat radiates upward, it'll raise the temp - but they'll suck down some power. But I'm thinking it's already been established that he needs more wattage in his lighting, so spending cash on something that will JUST raise temps and not improve the lighting issue is kinda inefficient. Investing in 'hotter' lighting would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Solid point. An I appreciate a decently structured rebuttal. All good info I definitely agree without more W’s he’s taking L’s on yield an growth rate.

$45 tile/wood finish heater from hardware store will raise his temps significantly. In an average bathroom, say an 8x12, it’ll jump it 6-8 degree room temp after just 1 hour on. Which you’d purchase 4x for that square footage underneath your flooring. I’d say it’ll eventually be a standard in premium grows. One less variable if you control floor temperature you control the very bottom of the root base.

A reptile mat for a terrarium is great for seed germination imo as a cheap substitute or if you have one from a dead past reptile.

Notice maybe half of all grows are on stilts to avoid the issue entirely. If your floors a constant 78, you also can ditch stilts and get 12-18” of height back.

You’re correct. I’d go with either:
A) a heating matt. There’s cheaper versions in all hardware stores sold under different labels. Tile heater. Seedling warmer. Etc.

B) up the lighting, which won’t help as much w your 2 sativa dominant ones. They will still want the heat.

Either way exchanging air keeps your air closer to atmosphere w/ enough CO2 for plant life. I don’t think you’ll die if you skip this, it’s just a good tip from Nope imo
So I went and did a little investigation. Long story short this equipment was given to me by a friend of friend. Had a start up and a tractor trailer full of inventory. Before the company could get on the ground, he went through a divorce and ended up selling all of this stuff cheap and off the market. Company never got off the ground so I can’t find any info on specs etc. the light says 320W and is blurple. HOWEVER, after talking to y’all, I went and investigated and there is a dim switch on the ballast. Blurple is all the way down, but when I crank her up, it changes to bright white. Do you by chance know anything about that? Wish I had brand specs but don’t. Should I crank to white? Is that just for flower? Should I keep Blurple for veg? Will going full white burn my plants? Or is that “more wattage?”

Apparently, there are a bunch of people who run typical "bloom" lights from seed to harvest, so hard to imagine the different spectrum being considered too much of a negative. I'm no expert in lighting, but if it seems more intense when cranked up, that kinda seems like it may solve a couple problems at once. Next time you have a few bucks to play with, one of these things may not be a bad purchase.

Well that would explain why it wasn't raising temps noticeably.

Red blue and green make white light.
But there's also lights on the market that have blurple monos with white cobs or monos ..

Could be either , though you'd see the white diodes when it was off.

At this point it doesn't matter.

Crank it up and see where your temps are at.

It also helps to put something under your tent floor to insulate it from cold concrete if the basement floor is concrete.

Just be aware at full power it's not enough to light up a 4x4 in flower, if you keep that light work with half the area.

If you upgrade to a 600 hps then look at the second hand markets like Craigslist and ebay.. People are almost giving this stuff away

Can you provide pics of the light and any markings? Do you have access to a kill a watt?

I honestly thought this was a joke. But no, I don’t have a kill a watt meter. I’ll grab some photos. 1 sec. Really appreciate everyone chiming in.
I'd ask any friends that dabble with electronics, they might have one. That will give you a better idea of what you are working with

It’s REALLY bright thought when I crank it all to white… that won’t hurt my ladies, will it?

Camera doesn’t really capture the difference as much but here it is all the way down and all the way up.
On camera it still looks purple… so I guess it’s still blurple… just brighter and cranked all the way up. Temp is rising slightly… gonna check on it again in 30, and see if I crossed into the 70s
