Solid point. An I appreciate a decently structured rebuttal. All good info I definitely agree without more W’s he’s taking L’s on yield an growth rate. Not really sure that's a particularly efficient solution, though. I used to keep reptiles and used several of those under-tank heating pads. Yeah, they throw some heat, and as heat radiates upward, it'll raise the temp - but they'll suck down some power. But I'm thinking it's already been established that he needs more wattage in his lighting, so spending cash on something that will JUST raise temps and not improve the lighting issue is kinda inefficient. Investing in 'hotter' lighting would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
$45 tile/wood finish heater from hardware store will raise his temps significantly. In an average bathroom, say an 8x12, it’ll jump it 6-8 degree room temp after just 1 hour on. Which you’d purchase 4x for that square footage underneath your flooring. I’d say it’ll eventually be a standard in premium grows. One less variable if you control floor temperature you control the very bottom of the root base.
A reptile mat for a terrarium is great for seed germination imo as a cheap substitute or if you have one from a dead past reptile.
