What do you do about odors? I have carbon going. Since it’s been cooler and pretty humid I do smell it a bit Inside only. Not big deal but

Not sure yet, this is literally my first week running co2, can’t run fully sealed yet cuz it’s just not quite cold enough outside. But If I get concerned about smell I’ll just set up a carbon filter on an in-line fan to run inside the room to scrub it a bit

I don’t spend close to 6 on heating for the winter thankfully I have “work” to do in the house to make it more air tight and insulated in general. Thank you for thinking about my pocketbook
Even a modest run will off set any overages i come across either via waste or investment into op

There’s also a piece of foam that’s the same type for the “door” that’s taped shut now for temporary use.. might add some magnets and some weather stripping to really seal it all up.

Update:
So just the passive air flow from the conditioned space to the foam box wasn’t enough to keep the lights out temp up more than 4-5*F
Tent hit lows of 54
So now
Inkbird controller and a little MyHeat heater, 200w. Been running 77-80*F with it kicking on and off

The garage is only 64*F right now as well. The little heater is making a big difference

Yeah I have the whole thing surrounded in foam now. Along with the little 200w MyHeat
Kickin ass with the Inkbird controller too

I have a similar situation growing in an unheated garage. I made a floor for the tent to keep the plants off of the concrete pad and use an oil filled heater. I don't use a controller for the heater. I just set it on low with the thermostat about halfway on. It kicks off when the light comes on and kicks in as needed during lights out. I have my exhaust fan on 24/7 with passive intake and it still keeps things in the mid 60's. I've been procrastinating about it but my plan is to use some underfloor heating at some point.

I have 3” of foam above the concrete floor under pots and even those are elevated off the foam on bakers pie cooling racks with drip tray

I might experiment with that MyHeat heater and an Inkbird.
I get to mid 60's lights out too. Plants seem to grow a little slower in the winter but never a bad harvest.

its been working pretty well for me. Garage hit a low of 44*F the other night when it dropped to 32*F outdoors.
I have it set to 78*F and the low point set to 72*F, meaning it’ll heat it to 78 (within a few minutes) and kick off and then once the temp drop to 72*F. Usually 15-20 minutes later it kicks back on
my main concern with the heater was having it run for hours and hours on end. I’m sure it can handle it but there is a label on the unit that says if it does shut off while the power button is on (guessing a over heating failsafe) to leave it off for 10 minutes and then turn back on.

Damn that is cold. You must be up north.
I'm also a little concerned about running a cheap heater.
My temps usually only fall to 66-68F. The tents are in my music studio which is built into my garage. It gets cool down there (good for instruments) but rarely cold. I've survived without one this far, but it'd be nice to see if it would make a difference in growth and yield during the winter.

My one comment on that 'MyHeat' heater...it is small and low wattage...but in this kind of setting isn't super consistent. It's on and blowing hot air, or it's off and the room cools rapidly. While the oil filled 'radiator style units are a bit more even...because they retain heat in the oil and metal frames, they heat, then slowly release the heat built up in their bodies rather than just blowing hot vs. off.

The oil heaters are too large for a 2X4 tent, that's why I'm thinking about the MyHeat. Oil would be OK in my 4x4.
Also the wattage is less. I'm already cranked in that room when I have amps and lights running at the same time.
Last thing I need is a 1000W heater switching on in the middle of a recording.

I grow in a shed during the winter. I do not have a tent but i framed a small 2 room veg / flower (on platform - off cement) with foam board. My temps range from -5 to 10C (23 to 50F) inside shed. The inkbird and honeywell 150/250w personal heater has been solid for 3 years. I do vent outside as my moisture was an issue. It was slowly creating mold as hot air vs cold shed is not good. My veg portion heat gets pulled into flower area before venting.
