OK! i have been using Sunshine Mix Advanced #4 for about 3 grows now. something about it, i can't put my finger on it but i'm not digging it anymore. i have used the Roots Organic a little bit and have heard AWESOME things about it. i use Botanicare's line of nutes and i think i will credit all my results to the nutes. since i have no idea about mixing and amending soils yet i think the Roots Organic would be a great choice. i am trying to be more organic. i would love to be fully 100% True Living Organics, but as this being my 4th consecutive grow since i started and so far i have been yielding anywhere from 28-100g per plant. depending on how many times i top and strain. i personally think the quality can be better, however nobody around me is complaining at all. i have been getting great reviews. my question is, will i be in a fully organic medium by using the Roots Organic? i know the nutes im using are synthetic, organic-based. hopefully i will be able to switch my nute program to BioCanna. in the end will this be perfect, or near perfect combo? i will also start amending the soil as needed per strain i grow and the more experience i gain.

which is why its the #1 base soil for subs super soil, and thats exactly what you should do if you wanna quit messing with buying over priced nutes .

i use a supersoil with roots as the base i have it next to some FFOF which i had leftover both have the same amendments and get the same water but the roots pot seems more full and green!

what i like about roots is its a mostly clean soil you can grab a handful and its light clean and not clumpy like ive experienced with FFOF

I too switched to roots and dont plan on looking back to foxfarm at all

also for a good organic line of nutes check out blue mountian organics! very good stuff!

i think i will stay on Botanicare. until i can make Super Soil. then all ill need is plain water! i can not wait. i suppose the SS recipe is time consuming and back breaking, but a certain country tune comes to mind when i think about these problems. well, half the line form the song anyways, lol. plus i have heard really really good things about BioCanna. i will be in full veganics, or TLO soon enough. i want to grow for taste and potency. yield is something that i already have down. well, first grow i yielded over 20 ounces, i think like 23-24. and i had only 9 plants. 8 plants yielded 14 oz alone. and 1 plant yielded the rest. NOT F'N BAD!!! 2nd harvest was like 12-14. i really didnt count it cuz i had a gnarly aphid problem. not an infestation, but it was nasty, hence my 3rd harvest only being 1 plant. and so far it appears to be at least 3.5 ounces. possibly 4. sorry im rambling. my oil i make kicks my veteran ass's dick in the dirt. i had a point to all this rambling. anyways, i have to walk my doggy. if i remember why i was here ill come back and edit. lol!

I used the same nutrients as you and started with proMix (same as Sunshine) after a few years I decided to mix things up and went with

50% Pro-Mix
25% Coco
25% worm castings

ran like this for 10 years. I'm doing RDWC now with some plants in dirt for fun.
