I've been going through Hembra Genetics, some east coast homies I know go through DC Seed Exchange, Irvine Seed Company is also a convenient local SoCal guy.
But are you asking for the banks selling the seeds, or the breeders of the seeds? Many breeders don't do direct-to-consumer. I've been on the Humboldt Seed Company train recently. Very consistent phenotypes, beautiful flowers, plants have been a pleasure to grow, smell fantastic, and I'm pulling my first harvest in the next three weeks or so. I've actually found myself saying "man, this bud looks just like the advertising photos".
There are a bunch of emerald triangle area growers that run their stuff, and they collaborate with local farms in NorCal and Oregon (HendRX farms, Fire Mountain farms, Rising Leaf Farms) to be able to grow the number of plants needed for breeding purposes. I love the transparency of the operation, and I know from personal acquaintances in the CA cannabis industry that their stuff has a presence in CA's grow scene.

Attitude and Seedsman. Quality seeds but you create your order and lets say its $150 and by the time you get to the end of checkout, it's now $250. I have found a domestic seller and my cost other than the beans was $5. So bye bye Great Briton and Netherlands. No I will not disclose seller.

Hi @GlassJoe just reading through this, first timer in decades and I got some GSC and Banner from ILGM. I also had several GSCs herm on me, and the females that made it have some fox tailing going on (for better or worse). They happily sent more seeds, but if it takes me three months to find out I wasted those three months, I don't care about free replacements. I also read on their forum that they may have sent photos when the customer was expecting autos.
Hope you can salvage things man!

Hey, thanks for chiming in. Wouldn't you know it, the only GSCE that didn't herm foxtailed, although it looks and smells alright. I'll be taking it down this weekend. Against my better judgment, I moved two of the plants outside instead of just chopping them because they hadn't hermed extensively and removed the pollen sacs from the few places where they had developed.
I harvested one of them already, which is now hanging. It looks nice and smells alright; they both have a very sweet smell. The one I've already harvested and the one I'm harvesting this weekend that foxtailed look very different; the foxtailed one has light green but otherwise traditional bud coloration, but the other has dark green buds with generous amounts of purple on them.
The third plant I ejected from the tent started to develop slowly, so I believe it began to re-veg as the days get longer here. I brought it back into the tent because it's not showing any new male parts, and all the other flowering plants will be gone from the tent by the time it's able to grow any. It's doing better in terms of flowering and smells a bit fresh and "fuel-y".
They send older stock first, which may have germination issues, but they'll replace the seeds or give you store credit if you complain. Their phenotypes are all over the place; structure, color, and smell will vary from plant to plant. They still charge a very premium price for seeds. That being said, I'd still chuck the seeds if I already had them or someone gave them to me for free, I just wouldn't purchase any for myself.
I ordered a packet of GGA from ILGM several months ago and had issues getting them to germinate. I received 20 gorilla glue auto seeds from them and over the course of the past few months a I have tried growing them . . . out of 14 attempts at germinating I managed to grow 3 plants. Two of those produced small plants and low quality smoke . . . the third is in flower and is 14 weeks 3 days from popping out of the coco. I have since ordered from other seed banks with 100% germination so I feel my method is solid and productive. I have only recently contacted their customer support and will see what they say about it, I'm just not sure I want anymore of their seeds . . . I gave the last 6 GGA seeds I had to my neighbor (with germination warning) last week so we'll see if he has better luck with those beans.
I would contact customer support and see if they'd ship them again because of the poor germ rate. Even if you don't buy from them in the future, might be nice to have some rainy day seeds!
I just did that . . . wasn't planning on it until I read this thread and folks seem to get better beans when they have to replace them. Will owe you guys a big thank you if they do send some better stuff . . . might even order from them again, they have lot to choose from for sure.

Having a lot to choose from is not necessarily always a good thing. For example, if they're selling Blue Dream seeds: where did they come from? Are they a selfed blue dream cut? Did someone re-breed a SSH with a blueberry and just call the results blue dream, even though they're not genetically stable? I have no idea where ILGM gets their genetics from, only that they sell a large variety of well-known names and they're constantly changing and adding more well-known names to which makes me doubt they breed anything.
I prefer having a good idea of how they arrived at the seeds they're sending you. When I got some autos from mephisto, I already knew specifically that the Ripley's OG is an F5 they got by crossing a Cali Connection Alien OG with a breeding auto and selecting for four generations. HSC tells you the parentage, what generation it is, whether it's selfed or backcrossed, and even the farm it was grown at (Hendrx farms, fire mountain farms, happy dreams farm, rising leaf farms). It gives me more confidence to actually see that they grow thousands of plants for each selection.

I emailed ILGM support Sunday evening about the problems I had germinating my seeds. They replied Monday morning and asked a few questions about how I tried to germinate. I replied and explained the methods I had used to get the beans to crack and that I had only been able to use 3 of the seeds. They did ask if I had taken pictures of the seeds that were inert . . . I replied that I hadn't. Then they wanted to know if the seeds had a little "tail" start to show at any time. I replied that that would mean the seeds had germinated and I wouldn't be contacting them. This was yesterday (4-6-21) and I received an email from them this morning with a credit code for $130. So looks like I'll be trying a few more of their beans in the near future.
And I do understand that some of you are concerned about where and how the different banks come by their stock. But to be honest, as to the genetics and source of the individual strains, I know exactly the same thing about my seeds from ILGM as you do about those you get from Mephisto. We know what they tell us about them on their website . . . nothing more nothing less, unless we have actually visited the operation in question. Both market their product by telling their consumer what they need or want to hear to encourage purchase. So far I haven't checked on a single seed bank that didn't have both positive and negative reviews.

I'm doing the same thing with the gorilla glue autoflower I got one out of five to pop and be healthy two other ones pop but they're not healthy too just didn't do anything at all total waste of money. When I tried to contact them they deleted the account that I created and won't contact me back so I guess they're guarantee of germination is a guarantee of getting ripped off.

I had about 4-6 not germ out of 40 with ILGM. I didn't bother to contact them cause I just don't want any more. All good. I'm gonna move on to other genetics.

I took a decade off from growing. I've always used attitude in the past with zero issues.
This time I saw the combo packs and fell in love.
Long story short, out of the 12 fem beans I popped I have 2 girls in flower and im about to throw them out.
I've never had plants so touchy a day in my life. At first I blamed old nutes from fox farms. I realized its genetics, ill be tossing the two I have in flower and starting from scrap with proven genetics from American seedbanks.
Prices are what they are $50. A seed at American banks is a hard swallow for 3/4 germ rates, however they will send you replacements and take care of you. Id avoid neptune as well from my one run in with them here on 4/20, but thats just me.

Not able to germinate your seeds? Or getting shitty end product and you blame the breeder????!!!, Lol it's more like your environment and you mistreating them and not knowing how to dial in your grow room correctly and making all sorts of fuck ups , and too all the scummy fucks that try and take advantage of free seeds ...in the end YOU ARE A STRAIGHT UP PIECE OF SHIT in the the eyes of many , you shouldn't of touched the plant to begin with because anyone with knowledge and half a brain know better . You will ALWAYS get your seeds in the mail, from USA to Australia, as I've always have like many others and you'll get the germination you want if you do it correctly ,and you'll ALWAYS get the product your hoping for if your environment is in good range..from pH, temps , light distance, air circulation all that other jazz.

i stole a nail file from my wife ,i rub a seed on as many sides as possabile to scar it up seems to help a lot, with ilgm seed stock!
But you didn't stay off . . . you, in a round about way stated that the seeds everyone orders from any bank or breeder are perfect and always delivered and germinate 100% unless the grower is at fault.
I don't know about USA to Australia. If the seeds are mailed from within the U.S. to the U.S. they should arrive, if mailed from overseas they do have a slight chance of being confiscated by customs . . . not because they are cannabis seeds, all seeds and plant matter that are not declared or permitted would be confiscated. You get the customs letter and no seeds . . . but the law isn't coming to your door either.
So you are telling me that the fact that I have had less than 50% germination rate with seeds from one band vs 95% + from 3 others using the same germination method is my fault and I simply don't know how to germinate seeds? Why do banks offer replacements if their product is 100% perfect and can only fail under grower error?
Growers are pieces of shit for asking a bank to honor their germination guarantee? I had 3/20 seeds germinate on and order of GGA and I contacted support and got replacements. And if you want to call me names, don't do it here . . . I'm sure we can figure out who and where each other are if you really want to, and I will oblige you face to face. I'm in southern Illinois and I'm legal so ratting me out won't help you any . . . and there's your starting point in finding me if you have anything to say about my comments., and aren't the typical internet coward that only talks shit. If I can always get the product I'm hoping for as long as I have the correct environment? So genetics don't have any part in this? Bag seed as good as ILGM genetics?

What's up gang new here, just wanted to chime in on this review. First I never used this company ILGM before until 2 weeks ago, honestly I got desperate waiting on my choice company to send me a mixed order ( out of bubblegum autos)! So I wait anyway I decided to go with the 10 for 10 granddaddy autos. I must say pleased 17 for 17 popped. ( don't ask don't know why I left three). I keep it simple, I plant directly in the starter dirt mixed with some coir and perlite, cover with plastic wrap ( remove once a day to get some fresh air cover back up) , keep them warm and move to final home. 2 days all popped all healthy. I will order again from this company have not decided if it will be main stock but surely as a back up plan . That decision will be made with final result. So you have another order you are waiting on but decided to order and plant these instead? What is the choice company seedbank you ordered from? Also you have already made the decision to buy from them again? Why don't you grow those out and see what you get first?
