ILGM seeds mixed reviews

They sell mythical stuff like "Maui Wowie" and a "Purple Haze" with a nine week flowering time... to accuse them of robbery is like getting mad that the Santa down at the mall isn't the REAL Santa. These aren't stolen genetics, they're completely fictional.
Name 3 breeders you know of that advertise the finishing time on point to the day. I wouldn't say what they have is mythical either. Robert's been growing for a LOOOONG time... so unless you have some proof... go sit in the back of the class with the rest of the people who have no proof Robert has stolen genetics... end of story. Work on that grow Journal bud, because until you can show you can even grow.. everything you say is fictional.
(And if you can grow.. still proves nothing here) :bigjoint: Welcome to RIU. :peace::eyesmoke:

Half stolen half made up lol
Maybe you guys can brainstorm on where that urban legend came from. Lol idk. But if you scroll down on their strain info.. it clearly says what it is.. I even seen some say where it came from, including other breeders. So I stick to my theory that either royalties are being formed over, or the permission was given by the breeder. Can anyone even come up with ONE breeder who claims his genetics were stolen and are being sold online? I bet not.. if you can.. get em here. bongsmilie Let’s hear his or her story.

Just cause you're late to the party doesn't mean it's not been talked to death. Maybe find a different noble cause.

Just put 6 more ILGM plants in the flowering tent. 3 GDP and 3 GSC. I've had good germ rates. Couple dud seedlings. This run should produce something of quality I hope. I've made a few changes and ramped up the cleanliness factor.

These are the first seeds I ever bought last spring. I got 20 of each. I've been using them as testers if you will until I get my tent and growing style under control. Not too worried about making clones of these gens as they are kinda suspect. I wouldn't buy them again but am not disappointed so far in what I've seen. I'd prefer to know what I have and where it came from. Just based on that I would always pass but for my purpose now I'd say they work just fine.

Dude if you want to believe in blatantly fraudulent genetics, that's your business. Do your own research, or don't.
If you had done research, you could provide proof correct? Since you haven't brought anything forward... We can all assume that you "Believe" you are right, based off of..... ???

Long story short.. put up or shut up...

The term is well known, no way you can read that wrong.

very disappointed, 6/18 Bruce Banner turned into a plant, ILGM offered to replace the seeds or give a $200.00 credit with a $79.00 purchase, I figured the BB replacement would not be viable, so I bought 2 more strains, which, so far, 0/6 and 0/3 did not grow, except the Gold leaf 3/3, offered as a bonus at $12.00 ea. That cost me $250.00 total, and I got 9 plants out of 30 seeds planted,, I figure the remaining 29 seeds will also disappoint me.
to update this, I germinated 4 more seeds 72 hrs. ago, all sprouted, 1 has a small tail, the other 3 are hopeful. I used spring water this time, so I hope that is it.

I thought I'd chime in because I grew some ILGM seeds last season. Last summer we split a sativa mixpack with gold leaf added on with some other growers. The germination rates were kind of mixed, with chocolope having the poorest, and super lemon haze having the best. When we contacted them about the germination rates, they said they would be willing to either replace the seeds, with the caveat that there would be a delay (this was early in the pandemic). They offered us a promo code for $150 store credit that would be active two months later when their stock moved as an alternative, and we accepted.

Some time in July as the summer grow was ongoing, the store credit went to a 20-pack of girl scout cookie extreme seeds during a promo when they cost $150, but I didn't start any until early December. I have four mature(-ing) plants and a couple of seedlings that I have grown from among them so far. There is a good deal of variation between plants (height, leaf width, color, plant structure), and a number of them have been finnicky (the only plants in the tent to show light burn, for example). The one I have liked the best so far is early in its flowering period and smells candy-ish at the moment.

The super lemon haze, strawberry cough, and gold leaf were all large and vigorous outside. However, the bud from many of them was nothing special, and while I do not claim to be a professional, I have grown many times before and produced bud better than from those plants. Overall, I would say that ILGM charges relatively premium prices, is relatively easy to deal with, but I'm not thrilled with breeders/banks that are unnecessarily evasive about their genetics. Combined with the issues with consistency, I would not be in a rush to grow their stuff again. Since then, I've gone for Humboldt Seed Company through Hembra genetics for seeds.

Did you have to send the old ones back? I mean at the price of seeds, its worth it to go thru the trouble of mailing them back. Hopefully the replacements are viable. I agree with you also. Theyre either mixed together or they try to push old ones on people so it's not a loss. If someone complains they send a newer batch. If they dont, thats money made on old seeds that most banks probably would have thrown away. Thats just speculation tho. Im FAR from an expert on seed science lol
All of mine popped...for the last 3 years. The only problem I’ve had is that a few didn’t come up after I put them in soil. When I contacted ILGM I told them they popped but didn’t come up & they STILL replaced them & I didn’t have to send in the old seeds. I’ve been using them the last 3 years. This will be my 4h. I put the seeds in the water today :D. My payments have been processed without problems, so I’ll read the rest of the posts & unless I see something really egregious, I’ll keep buying from them.

Hey, your money, but there's a running pattern of them sending seeds that don't germ with the intent of replacing them, their phenotypes are not consistent, and it's in no small part suspicious that they sell seeds for every strain under the sun including clone-only strains. I was just running four GSCE and a few of them hermed on me, with five plants from HSC in the tent all looking very happy and very female.

I'll definitely look into that. By the way, im not trying to slander this company or anything. Just stating what kind of reviews i found on them. There were definitely good reviews but also alot of bad reviews, mostly relating to germination rates being super low. Im no expert tho. Just trying to see what other's opinions are on ILGM and their germination success/failure rates.
No problem. I don’t see you as slandering the company. I’ve bought from them for 3 years & been happy. In my ’germination’ search, I ran across the original post & it got me interested. I like to see others’ experiences. Until now, the only thing I’ve had to go on are reviews on their site & I don’t take a lot of stock in that type of review. Also, searches show it’s one of the top seed banks. But, hearing firsthand from regular growers like me & you interests me! thank you for your input, as well as all who posted (I know I’m about a month late here ;)).

Good to know. Thanks. That’s why I’m reading through all of these :).

Okay. 2nd round of seeds soaked in water for 36 hours. Only 3 hours into soaking, one had sank and the other two stayed under when i dunked them under the surface of the water. All 3 of them cracked. One stuck its taproot out a good bit. The second one also did, but not as much. The third one cracked, but root not sticking out yet.
They then went into papertowel for 62 hours. Seems as if progress MAY have stopped as soon as they came out of the water (like last time with the first round of seeds).
They then got planted into cups with drain holes. The medium is moist and made of coco, pearlite, and peat moss. Mostly coco and pearlite. They've been in there for 72 hours now. So basically 7 days altogether since they hit the water. About 1.5 days in water, about 2.5 days in paper towel, and 3 full days in soil. They havent sprouted yet, but im being patient. Ive used a germ pad the entire time with the thermometer shut off deal on it to regulate the temp'. Ive kept that general area between 75° and 78°. Ive kept the seeds moist. Not too wet, but never dry.. They were buried "2 seeds deep" with taproot side pointed down. I didn't compact the dirt on top of it.. just lightly covered it. Im going to give them a full 14 days before i declare them dead then ill go in and investigate, to see if they made ANY progress at all. We shall see..
Did they ever come up?

This is the first year I’ve seen the method of putting them in the paper towel AFTER the water. What’s the purpose of that? I’ve either used one or the other, not both. I’m trying to decide which way to go before I start this afternoon ;). Thanks!
